What would be the better option, the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro D3O or the Leatt Airfit Lite? I´m unable to choose between them. Also I´m 6 feet 0 and 195 pounds which size you recommend if I had to choose the Fox Baseframe? The L or XL one?

Would the mesh on the padding rip on a crash? Seems like it would be fragile.

i thought the same, you simply lay on your back somewhere and tear apart by some small stone or branch...

Brilliant and detailed video. However, it really baffles me that almost all manufacturers pay so little attention to rib protection. Would really love to see some good armor for the ribs as this is a weak spot in almost any protection gear available on the market.

I am also of the same opinion...for a similar or even lower price check the ice-hockey protection - e.g. CCM Tacks 9080 Shoulder Pads

I tried it, compared it to the Leatt Airflex and DAINESE Rhyolite Safety Jacket. The Fox protection felt very shock absorbing. The mesh etself felt like it would tear easily. The chest plate felt very sturdy, but it was a bit short in length. The Fox system was a bit clumsy getting it on and off since it's one piece, but you can't really open it since you can't open the straps fully. Love how you can remote the back plate, would be nice if you could also remove shoulder and elbow pads and throw it in the washer. Loved the Leatt Airflex system where you can remove everything and it's a two piece design, but it the protection itself felt very flimsy compared to the Fox and DAINESE. The Shoulder and elbow protection was half as thick and a bit too pliable. The chest and back protector felt quite thin as well. (tested the 3 by hitting myself with an iron bar, and I really felt that the FOX and DAINESE absorbed a lot more of the impact). What I did like about the Leatt Airflex was the length of the back protector, it is a bit thin, but it was long enough where i felt it would protect more or less the entire back. The DAINESE for example only got to vertebrate L1'ish, which felt very short. Backplate of the Fox was by far the best, would've been a bonus if it had the length of the Leatt.

Does it work for moto enduro?

i wish the chest part would be bigger so it covers more of the ripcage

Great Video! I would like to see how useable this is in a daily basis. I broke many parts of my bones during my 40 years Bike experience. Right now iam writing this from my hospital bed after a snatching my ellbow. I just ignored how saving this pro equipment could be and would be in the future. So my question: Is it easy to put on when you use it every day in the city?

I'm guessing one crash on a mtb will leave that elbow mesh torn to pieces?
@rmatvmc7 ай бұрын
It's hard to say but the mesh on this jacket is pretty tough and should be able to hold up to a crash. Especially if you wear a jersey or other long sleeve shirt over top.
@EliasLeo67 ай бұрын
@@rmatvmc Yeah, let's say I'm downhilling with just aT-shirt and the baseframe underneath and crash on my elbows. It would be destroyed i guess? So best to wear a long sleeve jersey on top? Or would the mesh on it's own withstand a direct crash

Compared to wearing a wicking long sleeve T-shirt with an alpinestars bionic chest protector is this going to be warmer? I know it’s hard to say just looking for a general idea.
@rmatvmc2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, Philip, I haven't ridden in this so I couldn't give you an honest answer. My guess is that it would be warmer than a short sleeve wicking shirt with the Bionic underneath. - Chase

@@rmatvmc Thank you. Is this including the padding or should that be taken out of the vest beforehand?

The armor inserts should be removed before washing.

Anybody know if I can buy this without the d3o?
@supermoegaming44878 ай бұрын
So would you put the jersey over top of the armour first then a neck brace ?
@rmatvmc8 ай бұрын
Yep, you could do that 👍You can also play around with it and try wearing the jersey over the part of your neck brace that sits against your body.
@supermoegaming44878 ай бұрын
@@rmatvmc Thank you! Is it essential to take out that back plate part for the neck brace or just an option for that body armour? I am about to buy a neck brace so just wanna confirm :)

@@supermoegaming4487 Did you find out? I don't want to remove that extra back plate protection if I don't have to.
@supermoegaming44872 ай бұрын
@@olivereyre5379 Yeah you can take the back part out if you want to but I chose not to. However to answer my comment and your question. I put the body armour on with the back plate still attached and it still fits perfectly find in my opinion/knowledge. I’m new to wearing a neck brace so technically I don’t know any better haha. But on a side not it’s a personal choice :) Hope this helps?

D30 is used in alot of different snow sports as well as in ice hockey, so its fine. I wear a D30 vest for snowboarding and its amazing. It doesnt get stiff because your body heat will keep the pads warm. Im looking to pick up this vest for snowboarding also.
