The new Fox Racing Comp Boot is the entry level option is Fox's boot lineup, but is built off the championship-proven Instinct to offer instant step-in comfort and other design elements found on the flagship boot. How do these compare to the gaerne fastbacks?

Both are solid. But the Fastback does have a hinge which will help with flex and lateral support. The Comp wins with comfort. But, the Fastback is around $150 more. Honestly, the Fastback is more comparable to the Fox Motion than the Comp. - Chase

I don't care about price, my main goal is feel (short and flexible toe box) my tech 8's are like riding with a cast on. These sound good, any others that would fit this requirement? Thanks

By flexible, do you mean good ankle movement and not too stiff? These are good, but the Motion or the Instinct 2.0 will have more movement. I'd also check out the Sidi ATOJO, that boot is very light feeling and great range of motion. - Chase

I have a couple of instincts and I can tell you they are the best boot I have ever had! I’ve had tech 7,8 and 10. Fox bottom soul grips the pegs so much better, way more comfortable and break in better. I just bought the motion wired series as well.

hey man is this ok for enduro trail? any other advice?

It would be great for trail riding. I would probably go with the X version to get the enduro sole if trails are your main type of riding.

I just picked up a pair of comp. Went up a size because they felt tight in the toe. Have to see how that goes when i get out and ride

Just picked these up last night. They are comfortable but pretty stiff. Hoping they break in. The buckles are excellent.

It's tough to compare these to a Tech 7 since they don't have a hinge. The new Motion from Fox that is coming out next week is a direct competitor to the Tech 7 and is around the same price. But I can say that the new Fox boots are very comfortable and this is definitely the best boot option IMO in the $250 range. Another great boot around $300 or less is the Leatt 4.5. - Chase

I never weighed the previous comp boot so I'm not sure. These aren't a heavy boot by any means. - Chase

I'm so glad FOX did away with the funky sizing. If this was the 80s or 90s, it wouldn't be a big deal, because most purchases would be done in person, and you could physically try them on. In today's world, with so many online purchases, true to size is important, for obvious reasons. Nobody wants to order "their size" and have it not fit.

Yep. l bought the old comp 5 boots from a few years ago. I wear a 10 but ended up needing a 12. Also was just a trash boot in general. New ones look good. Hard to buy boots in person as these days dirtbike shops aren’t as many as there used to be, and each one only carry’s certain models or brands

The Leatt 4.5 is a really good option in this price range, especially if you see a pair on closeout. Right now we even have some of the Leatt 5.5 Flexlock boots on closeout for $240! - Chase

@@rmatvmc Have Fox improved the quality on this newest generation of boots? the quality of the previous Comps was lacking in comparison to the Tech 3's by most accounts.
