Probably because foxes are so freaking adorable and many see that and be like OMG I WANT, but they are unfed gremlins basically 24/7 and shouldn't be bred and sold as pets and should only go to experts when they are unfortunately some way imprinted, and who can afford them in all their need departments..

Luckily, if the experiments go right, we could have domesticated foxes in the next 10 years, most likely a bit more than that. Scientists are currently conducting experiments to domesticate foxes in an attempt to understand how dogs came to be domesticated better, so as a by-product, a new cultural pet will hit the shelves.

@@physical_insanity idk i feel like current domestication efforts are simply about lowering aggression and raising interest and trainability with humans, it's not like they can breed out some of the more negative behaviours - that'd be like taking a hamster and trying to breed out the behaviour of stuffing their cheeks with food, or making them no longer nocturnal.

maybe and its fun to think that but the chuckle we percieve is usually anxiety stress , could be warnings/aggressive (though screams are more so i think) or pleas/begging/submission/whimpering etc like . foxes are very hyperactive and nervous/anxious wild zoomy little devious creatures.

I watchd her video about going to get rescues at a fur farm.. you could hear the fox's doing a 'vixen's scream' , they only do this when they are warning others or trying to scare off a predator..it was sicknening

A quick reminder that the foxes in these videos are rescues from furfarms or have been abandoned from a young age and thus they've never been out in the wild. Foxes need a lot of care and they're not like dogs or cats. They're like cats and dogs being combined together with a bit of hyena and extra bad smells. If you want one but can't effort it or have the room or time for them... please donate to support those who help save foxes and re-home them to safe places
