But then I see the Marilyn Manson thing on his shirt. I just get how a Christian would push anything associated with that person. It does say 2013. maybe Cooper converted after 2013..I dunno. I love this interview so much but then there's this, imho, glaring inconsistency.

@@terryjp3050 don't try to use that on me. I know the context of it. It's okay as a Christian to use your brain to discern and reason and spot inconsistencies. It is not a "judgement" of Cooper's eternal destination by me but merely pointing out that Manson's example to this point in his life is not a Christian one - nor was intended to be.
@teller1290
@teller1290 3 жыл бұрын
@Brian Cleveland yeh, I know abstract meaning and Biblical context. The context is hypocrisy, not merely judging or coming to a decision about what is Christian conduct and what is not. This admonition was given immediately following a grievous example of hypocrisy on the part of one or more people. In other words, "Judge not, lest ye be judged," isn't designed to handcuff Christians in approving or disapproving of things in the society around them. It was a warning to Christians engaged in essentially same acts in private that they were publicly condemning. God is not fooled by such conduct.

I come back to this every once in awhile, just for a smile. To hear Alice tell things about Glen, not as a way to harm Glen, just to tell the truth speaks volumes about their friendship. I remember in the 70's reading all about things like his fling with Tanya Tucker, his drug addiction, and somehow he came through the other side where the sun shines, and it was really hard to watch the documentary because I saw my mom decline to nothing thanks to Alzheimer's. She was our church organist for 50 years, she had learned to play as a girl, and when we finally decided she couldn't live safely by herself we placed her in a nursing home. Her first few years there were great because she would sit down at the piano in the dining room to play and many of the residents would be drawn to the music. Her final 3 years she no longer recognized the piano or what it was for. It was a relief when she did pass away. She wasn't "living" when that time came. There has to be some great music in heaven when you think about all who made music are there when you get there. Rock and Roll will never die.

The Ovation guitar was developed by aircraft engineer Charlie Kaman using aerospace composite material instead of traditional wood construction. Charlie Kaman was a professional guitarist. He turned down an offer to be guitarist with the Tommy Dorsey orchestra in order to pursue his business of developing a unique helicopter based on a WWII German design. Years later, he used the latest thing in aircraft structural technology to go back to his roots, and he developed a space-age guitar.

First of all this is one of the better interviews of a celebrity I've ever seen. Why? Because it's the human side of the act. Everyone knows about Alice Cooper and the act when you go see him. This is a strong reminder to all of us that he is a human being just like you and me and he just wanted to share with others that human side also of him and Glen Campbell. It's sad that Glen Campbell passed away and unfortunately with the Alzheimers being the driving force. Alice Cooper strips off all of the act to explain what it was like to be with Glen Campbell as a friend and human being. And yes, who in the world could've imagine that these two guys were such good friends? We somehow can't imagine that these guys are just entertainers and it's just an act that they do that helps pay the bills and raise their families with. This is an honest interview and my appreciation to Alice Cooper for giving us the human side of himself and Glen Campbell. Gonna miss Glen. A true talent now gone but never forgotten. Thanks Alice.

He is, according to the beliefs of many, in a place of perfect Peace and perfect Love. While those who do not believe can simply know this post does not pertain to them-you, it is no one's place to put down the beliefs of others...since you asked. I was flipping thru the channels on a Saturday a long long time ago. Alice Cooper won a celebrity golf tourney with Bruce Jenner(!)

Alice was close with my neighbor Danny Briggs in the 90's and they played golf all of the time together. Danny loved Alice so much and said that he was one of the most genuine people he knew. I never got to meet Alice, but I know, through stories that Danny and Kim Birggs told to me, that he is an incredibly intelligent and funny man. Glen Campbell went to my dad's car wash on 40th and Camelback in the 80's and my dad said that Glenn was gracious and he always had a kind word for my dad. Arizona is so lucky to have had great men like them, living in the Valley! We love them both!

I was never an Alice Cooper fan, but I am now! What a really great guy!!! Shows that you cannot judge a book by it's cover. RIP Glen, and thank you Mr. Cooper for those great memories of Glen that you've shared with us. Vincent is a really cool guy.

I think Alice Cooper represents the highest pinnacle of integrity any performer could ever aspire to. I am sure Glen is smiling right now knowing he had a friend so stayed and true.

I was 18 when "eighteen" came out. It was like our high school graduation anthem. I loved Alice Cooper, the band. They played serious rock and roll with a bit of a haunted house theme thrown in. They were a great show, toured every album back then and I never missed them when they were in town. Vince was/is a very normal guy in real life and I appreciate his friendship and respect of Glenn Campbell.

I graduated high school the spring 'School's Out For Summer' hit the charts. We cranked the car radio every time it was on and screamed along all that summer. As for Glen Campbell - what a guy!

Wow, this interview just gave me a whole new level of respect for Alice Cooper. What I wouldn't give to have been at the 19th hole with them listening to their tales of the music business. A pleasant surprise was Alice's callout of Bobby Goldsboro, one of my favorites in the 60s and 70s. Memories indeed.
