Lived and served in Law Enforcement in Manatee County. When your told to evacuate out, you go. Once winds break 45mph, public safety and services will not respond. We used to carry toe tags for people who didn't want to mandatory evacuate.. so if they were "found", we could positively ID them. They usually got the message once realization set in. It's usually tourists who don't heed the warnings. Hope everyone is safe or at shelters.
