Yeah but some girls do be chronically running away, some just insist on being where the action is, they like that lifestyle. It's exciting to them, better than staying home or staying with family. Not saying that this is the case here, I'm just speculating. Usually if they not with family or extended family it's because they don't want to be with that family sometimes for justifiable reasons, sometimes not. It's very difficult situations and sometimes it's the child who is just forever running away because they like the lifestyle and no rules, just staying with their cool older "friends" etc. And then sometimes it's because life at home is garbage and they are neglected or abused and are searching for their own family they made up of various friends. But some have good lives at home and families who love them and want them home l, aren't abusive. but the kid just wants to be on the streets, and won't have no one tell them about the danger etc. Some are both. I've seen these types of situations play out so many times before with indigenous girls here in Canada. My own niece. My sister. Unfortunately sometimes these lil kids are fed addictive drugs and that's why they never want to go home or they can't even if they wanted because they have a drug debt. Scary world out there, girls and boys.

Initially was thinking the same thing, but I changed my mind. I've decided I'm not going to judge them. I don't know what their family situation was like, etc. Family can care a lot about each other and not be very close knit with each other, etc. I don't know them. Each family and each family's dynamic is different. Her cousin really seemed like they cared about her. The mother seems very sad. The police need to get all the answers before we start judging them. I'm shocked no one in the comments section has considered the possibility that maybe Libby was groomed by someone and that's why she ran away. I'm trying to think why a 12 year old would leave home. Pedos exist. They're insidious. You'd be surprised how many people are victims of grooming or sexual abuse. It happens a lot more than you would think.

Worrying and stressing can take a huge toll on the heart/body. Her mother looks tired & heartbroken. She may be on a Valium or something but a psychiatrist will see the parents after the M.E allows identification and she was probably given something. Why are people blaming a CHILD for “running with the wrong crowd”? Take a look at her home life. She was trying to get away from abuse I can guarantee it. I don’t believe she was a bad kid, she was trying to run from a bad situation by any means. Not that any situation justifies murder, especially looking a sweet little girl in the face and shooting at her MOUTH? Sick. Some predator took advantage of this poor girl in a desperate situation. Unfortunately the odds were against her the second she was conceived. This story is heartbreaking and I just wish there was something I could actively do to help protect these kids.

I was running away at that age too. Children this age dont just run away. It means your home life is very disturbed. It’s unfortunate that when your that young and on the streets, older people in the community will not help you or look out for you, they will prey on you, commit crimes against you such as sex trafficking, rape etc. I wish I would have run into this poor girl so i could have helped her. It wasn't by the cops, it was by somebody they probably seen several times or possibly even knew. That how grimy the streets are.
