Samantha Woll murder: Suspect on trial for fatal stabbing

Michael Jackson-Bolanos, 29, is charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, and lying to a peace officer after he allegedly stabbed Woll in her Detroit home in October 2023. She was found dead outside her residence in the 1360 block of Joliet Place.
Jackson-Bolanos was arrested several weeks later amid speculation that Woll's murder was a hate crime due to her position within metro Detroit's Jewish community. However, Detroit police said later on they don't believe that to be the case.

Is this the defense attorney's first trial? I understand not having much to work with, but this guy isn't even asking relevant questions on cross. He should just say "no cross" so he doesn't look so dumb!

I think he believes if get witness admit inconsistency it may be reasonable doubt. Not sure where he has going with trying to get everyone to say that one spot has the most blood. He also thinks if show LE didn’t process every little thing that may be reasonable doubt.

How are his questions not relevant? The point he is making and what I’m taking from it, is that they don’t have enough evidence, and the evidence they do have has been tampered with. Most of his questions elude to that fact. I would love to know what question he asked that don’t correlate with the case. The only thing I wished for him to do was to ask the judge to make the neighbor answer the questions as they are asked. Rather his feelings are hurt is irrelevant! We’re talking about someone’s life on the line here!

I'm not sure about this one. Too much reasonable doubt. That one witness had been clearly coached and he was ripped to shreds on cross. Not good for the prosecution. Plus it makes no sense that you go into a place to steal, deem it necessary to kill the home owner, but end up stealing nothing at all?! You are desperate enough to kill, but not to steal once you were free to do so?? Hmmm....

Could be antisemitism too, since she had the Israeli flag and a pro Israel sticker on her window. He was the manager of a restaurant owned by a notoriously anti Israel and Hamas loving individual who celebrated October 7th on Instagram and twitter. Just some food for thought…..

I don’t know why the elephant in the room isn’t being addressed. This happened in October, Samantha Woll was a well known member of the Jewish community. Dearborn/Detroit is home to the United States largest Muslim population. Nobody here is connecting the dots that this murder was targeted antisemitism !

It’s not rational. Walk in and she was asleep in sofa. Startled each other and reacted by stabbing. Don’t stay to steal. It happens. Have to see rest of evidence. If phone records only put him at complex still think need more to show he did it. He may have but need to prove it with more than at location.

Why didn’t they get palm prints from the ex so could exclude him from window? Also find it astounding could not get decent prints from victim. She was found within hours. It makes them look bad have staff don’t know how to get good prints. This is Detroit area, do lots of prints. How is this possible?

I saw that too. The judge was very upset at the beginning that the camera showed the defendant coming in from wherever they hold him. We mustn't see him in any shackles! She even appeared to fall asleep until someone opened that creaky door. This is the strangest court set-up I've ever seen. Sitting in the witness chair must seem like sitting in an acquisition. So exposed! They couldn't build a little barrier (the "stand") so the witnesses could at least be a little more comfortable?

Does the defendant’s attorney have any questions of His own? All he does is ask the same question the Prosecter asked and witness has answered, and his point is to trip up the witness asking it like word salad. Full of word salad… Another Darrell Brooks Jr 2.0, they are both under educated. Can’t pronounce words correctly, like he doesn’t know what it means, and has not said it before today. I get he passed the bar exam, but needs to go back to Elementary school and study and practice phonics. It’s available to buy hooked on phonics, or watch reading rainbow with Lavarre Burton. He adds H’s when no H in word and leaves out R’s, skips over the R when not silent. Does Wayne County not have a seasoned prosecutor? If anyone in court is reading this, tomorrow, please talk LOUD. He passed the bar, but needs to go back to elementary school? As if law school is just that easy. Speech is not a testament to intelligence. The majority of my doctors have been foreign, but I’ve never second guessed their medical advice, based on their pronunciation of words.

Well he knows that the young man is being framed. THE BOYFRIEND KILLED HER, and that's being totally ignored. He confessed. Said he was manipulating everyone. Then blames it on mental problems. Goes and gets immunity so he can't be charged. WHY? Because he's guilty.
