That’s why I taught my 10 year old son to drive in an isolated parking lot in Tucson Arizona. When I was having a medical emergency he was 15 and able to drive me to the ER. Teach your kids basic like skills while young. They’re not taught in most schools. Great thinking young man. Happy to see the attention given to him. Clap for him!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@SL-lz9jr Жыл бұрын
That’s smart! A responsible child will know never to drive without a license except in an emergency. And it’s those emergency moments when you want competent people around you, even if it’s a child. My mom always raised me to be aware of my surroundings and situations and how to handle certain emergencies. I don’t drive. I have my license and grew up riding in a car. When I have children, I’ll have to remember to teach them the basics of operating a car. Maybe not necessarily teach them how to drive but certainly at least know where the gas and break pedals are, hazard lights, how to put a car in drive, park, etc. I live in NYC now where not everyone drives and I can’t imagine being a city kid and never really being exposed to cars. Yikes.

"Patricia Nichols" My twin brother has always been afraid to drive. He always feared crashing. No way to teach him at age 10. Our dad was no help. He instilled it in my brother. Our dad used to tell us that cars are dangerous to drive and that he himself had a car when he was a young man in the 1920s and it was a jalopy but he very soon gave it up because he felt that the highways were too dangerous. So our dad told us never to drive a car. I went ahead and learned at age 25. My sister went ahead and learned maybe in her early 40s and she attempted to teach our brother to drive and paid a driving instructor to teach him but he kept panicking and freaking out at the wheel just by trying to start the car and driving a few blocks and the driving instructor had to give up.

I know it sounded like they said 61 on the bus, but it was actually 16 people altogether, plus the people in the car in front of the bus that they would have rammed into if the boy didn’t act quickly; and quite possibly a house, or pedestrians too. He did wonderful!

@@pulpuspounder6011 …Well, if you want me to be more precise, he prevented harm. In the very least, he prevented the bus from hitting the curb. I know the bus wasn’t going that fast, but even a slow, rolling bus can ram into the edge of the curb and caused a fender bender. He helped to prevent that, so please do not underestimate your classmate/peer. He may have not resuscitated anyone, but he helped the driver get to the emergency room in a timely manner, whereby saving her life. Honestly, you’re not fully grasping the entire impact of each part of the situation. It’s not just about the bus rolling. It’s about the driver having a medical emergency, and children and teenagers sitting in seats that do not have seatbelts. I’m glad the bus was rolling slowly, but had the bus hit the curb, it could’ve provided enough force to throw some smaller kids forward.

What a great kid. Hopefully, someone sets up a college scholarship for him. Most people, including myself, would have panicked.

I think he just reacted to the situation at hand. Some people are just calm in emergency situations and he is one of them. Very, very commendable....

Dylan is THE MAN. His action kept a bad situation from becoming very much worse. Excellent, young man! PS I’m a former EMT. You may wanna think about emergency services. You got the stuff.

What an amazing little man. Very brave and level headed. Well done for saving everyone from what could have been a horrible event ! You wish to be a fireman when your older, and I think you will be great working in emergency services as your a natural. Again well done and love from Scotland x

Thank God he knew what to do or this could have been a completely different story and possibly a very tragic story

Because that bus would have crashed straight into oncoming traffic if he didn’t act as quickly as he did that day, causing serious - or even fatal - injuries not only to everyone on board, but also to the occupants of any cars or vehicles it would have hit.

Dillion for mayor when the time comes. Hope that the bus driver does well, health improving daily. Kids are more capable than given credit for. He went into control mode automatically. Good proof Dillion fulfilled a preordained destiny. Future emergency service representative.
