@@DanMorgan-bh5fv We started doing that in the 1950s and it never had any real effect. Cloud seeding works great in clouds to make it rain but you need clouds that are very "pregnant" and about ready to drop rain. You can't make it rain in a desert.

So in 1957 (Audrey) and 1966 (Alma), were much farther in the gulf than Beryl is now? Alma was well in the gulf on June 8th, much earlier in the month, and Audrey was on June 27th almost in Texas. In case you did not notice today is the last day of June and tomorrow is July with a whole different weather history. Does that mean in 1957 and 1966 global warming caused those storms or excessive pollution caused them? You are trying to scare the public with information that is consistent with storm history that did the same thing now as happened 67 years ago. Hurricanes do not happen on a schedule as our past has shown us, repeatedly.

This is coming from a Meteorology student. I understand that a few individual storms in June have happened before, but the fact that this is in June itself isn’t the true concern. The concern is the rapid intensification happening this time of year, no storm has intensified from tropical depression to Major hurricane in 42 hours like this before the month of September (only 6 times ever recorded at all). That is why this storm is historic and is a concerning sign for this season. No need to accuse anyone of stoking the flames, this is just observation of a peculiar event compared to what is on record.

Weather nerd here. Both Audrey and Alma were in the Gulf of Mexico when they were major hurricanes. The Gulf is generally warmer than the ocean. Beryl is east of the Windwards (I.e., still in the ocean) and is now Cat 4. That has never happened before. It’s amazing just how defensive people get when you mention climate change. Denial much?
