But for those who have been investing for decades like Warren buffet, it’s a slaughter waiting to happen, cuz he paid 20% capital gains tax, but more importantly he manages people’s retirement, so in reality you are screwing buffet over as much as you are screwing the people who has invested into Berkshire, but I’m unsure how that’s gonna play out, it’s just gonna make investing a whole lot harder, it’s gonna be a lot harder for people like buffet to manage other peoples money because he’s gonna have a lot less to work with whenever he sells you see.

@@kannermw absolutely agree that spending must be cut. Reducing the size of the fed will cut spending but you would need to reduce remaining agency budgets. There can be no rebates or loopholes in the tax cut. I’m taxed on my income by Fed and state. Then the money that I was already taxed is taxed multiple times afterward. If I own property I have to pay real estate taxes, why? Do I own it or not? If I own a car, then I have to pay personal property taxes…and I paid a sales tax to purchase that too. Why? I thought I owned it not the government. I buy groceries and other items I pay a sales tax. If I eat out, my local govt pages a tax on that too. I’m sick of the weight of this and meanwhile the politicians get rich (as do their children and other family members) while being in office, a great pension if they stay and they don’t have to take social security when they get old. They should have to balance the budget and it should go back to when the 2nd Bush took office.

How many millions have been given to universities, meanwhile Feds guarantees student loans. What a grift to colleges and universities. The administrators in both higher learning institutions and public schools need to be re-examined. Do we need a DHS anymore, the Patriot Act, FISA and CISA? It’s corrupted. Over 9 million unvetted people transported into our interior automatically becoming a burden on every tax payer, FISA has been abused over 100,000 times, and who are the feds to be censuring Americans. EPA? How many man made disasters do we have in the US that cannot be cleaned up, and the government is going to change the climate? Billions invested in technology and business that we don’t want, and in which they have traded for a whole set of other pollution and environmental problems. And since taxing obviously doesn’t matter anymore, they just print more money whenever they want to…waste and abuse in the federal government is enormous. Their spending is out of control, meanwhile I live on a shoestring budget as do most Americans, so the fed can do massive spending on programs that are not needed. Please look at where $$$$ are going.

@@freshmclovin4593 Automation. I am a computer scientist. We're already have the prototypes. We're now doing audits and sample test to see where AI and automation can move into. The only place that you'll need humans will be security and the mechanic that replaces the kiosk. We are also narrowing down the "vulnerability surface area" to dissuade customers from stealing or making it almost impossible to steal. We wouldn't ever decide to replace most remedial human jobs, if it wasn't for the current inflation and insane labor cost. It can all be reversed if the price economics get better, but Biden is forcing alot of small businesses to go as a "full stack owner" or "automate everything." Its sad.

Not quite. If you hold investments, the value of those assets inflates and typically those assets inflate more than the cost of living so you come out ahead. Even still, this capital gains tax is crazy. Capital gains on dividends should be 0%, and on share price appreciation should be 0% also since it's directly connected to cash generation capabilities of a business and taxes are already being paid on income earned.

Joe Biden has proposed an increase in Capital gains tax to 44.6 percent. That would be the highest rate since the government started taking the money you earned running a business and the selling the business when you retire. Add the State tax onto the Federal tax you would have to pay a total of 59 percent in CA. 55.3 in NJ, 54.5 in OR. And 54.4 in Mn. So the government gets to spend over half of your retirement money on what? If you live in CA that would help pay for a high speed rail to nowhere. What these idiots proposing these taxes don't realize is the huge risk people are taking when they invest.. Of course the people proposing these taxes don't suffer from that risk since they have all the insider information they need to always make good trades. Not only do you have the risk of losing all your money in the market if you are in the wrong companies when the market or a stock crashes, they want more than half your money if you succeed. You aren't encouraging people to invest with that sort of policy.. You are doing the exact opposite, and that would cause people to pull their money out, and companies will suffer because of lack of funding when people don't invest in them anymore. This is a horrible idea.
