This is a really unlikeable guy. I hate his attitude and theatrics on the stand, you can tell that despite the reason he’s there, and he’s admitted his actions were questionable, he STILL thinks ( knows ) that he’s superior to everyone else in the room. Making faces - which he does a lot, does him no favours nor does being so conceited and condescending. The fake smile and dead eyes remind me of a shark. I hope prison taught him how to be humble but I very much doubt it. I wonder how many other times he’s cheated and not got caught out.

This man is a pompous ass. He's trying to come across as just a regular guy to the jurors but he can't because he's so arrogant. I'm not sure what happened in that hotel room but I have a feeling she felt like she had to because he was her boss which is wrong in itself. But I'm not sure he drugged her. If he did he's a monster and should never have been put into any role of authority. His wife knows what kind of man he is deep down. She may never admit it out loud but she knows. I do find it odd that she did so many media interviews that seems to me like she liked the attention. However we all react differently.

Competence is irrelevant. His lawyer(s) are from the Union, his sentence was decided long before the trial. (Usually for LE they will minimum have a secured range of expected time to serve if any and it will be mitigated *in all cases* unless public optics makes it impossible thus deeming severe intervention as 'liable' but they will still help on the low. Its everybody for themselves and they have their backs in different scales, the differences of which will dictate wether or not you get sacked for this type of stuff. It goes, highly ranked bureaucrat in judicial capacity of power, then their public image then their friends and family>the agencies enforcing 'their' laws> their public images ,their friends and family>the perceived public>you.
