Which is the best FPV Camera? Comparing both the Foxeer T-Rex Micro and the Foxeer Predator V5 for image quality.
The Foxeer T-Rex camera range is a 1500TVL High Dynamic range camera essentially attempting to provide the highest quality Analogue image possible while maintaining lowest amount of latency. Foxeer designed this mainly for Freestyle/Acro, however we believe this camera could without a doubt have it's place in Drone Racing also.

According to the oscilloscope testing I have seen, the latency is 2.2ms, vs the 1.73ms of the predator v5. Both are super good!

I really don't know how they've done it, but the T-Rex has an image really similar to the Ratel/Toothless 2/Phoenix 2, but with much less latency! Pretty impressive! I've got the eachine version with 1500tvl.....not sure of how it compares latency wise but I mainly fly it in my local woodland and just love the extra resolution. (And I normally fly dji)

This camera is my new racing camera. The latency is fine im not seeing it like i would with other high TVL cams i been racing it for months with amazing results

Paul might hate me, but I'd want to throw the Toothless2 into that same mix - probably more of the same mix of subtle differences and strange differences, but through my goggles, that is still the outright prettiest image, but it does carry that locked one-frame penalty the TRex does.

any suggestions on how to get rid of those blury horizontal lines flickering in upper part of the video? I have t-rex and those lines are also there. They are there even with quad disarmed, so it does not look like electrical noise caused by high currencies.

I've been flying with the Predator V2 since I got into the hobby. It works great so there was no need to replace it. I've been wanting to move up to the Predator V5 for some time now. Looks like it has been replaced? By T-Rex? Yes/No?

Both cameras I've made the same changes to. I have set them both to Color mode, NTSC, all camera generated on screen info turned off. No other changes made to the cameras.

I like the content and the pilot skills, but sometimes it is a bit disturbing that the camera man interrupts the comentator. I like the conversation between the two, but better let the commentator finish their lines. Predator all the way! How about the cat 2 for racing?

Thanks for the feedback, but I have a feeling you're going to find it disturbing for many years to come. Not much has changed here in years. The Cat 3 is mainly for low light situations and we've never needed to test that. In any night racing events, ie FAI Ningbo, MultiGP etc we've run predators in either normal mode or LED mode if need be. In fact we pretty much go by what Foxeer want us to test for them and sometimes we make videos on it for out channel.

We've also got SharkByte, however found the hardware to be way less reliable, but the image quality is better without a doubt. I'm sure over time it will get better. We should probably do a video on Sharkbyte vs DJI, since we have both in identical race quads.
