Hi Tanya, you seem to have a paradise garden there. Where are you located? Were you able to permanently get them to leave? I am writing from Germany. This morning January 8 2024 my both Pomeranians were savagely attacked by foxes. Both were dragged down the slope of our property in the mouths of the foxes and were not the least bit bothered with my husband kicking them to have them release our dogs. In my case, they are a danger to the welfare of my dogs, and who knows even us. We found their den feet from our back door and will work aggressively to destroy it and run them. The boldness of these animals. I also have a large fish pond that's not enclosed. So I am wondering if the water source is appealing to them? Both dogs were rushed to the vet. Please write back if you got rid of your foxes or if they came back.

Hello! I’m in Southern California. I’m sorry to hear about your dogs. I hope you all are ok. Once I got the foxes to leave, I cut down the bamboo behind the pond. They were using it as a retreat from the heat. I also cut back my neighbor’s trees and my shrubbery. They like hiding in foliage. I secured the pond to make sure they didn’t have a water source. I haven’t seen them since. Someone told me that crushed lime also helps. Apparently it irritates the nasal passages 💚

@@thebusybrownangel5829 hi Tanya, thank you so much for replying. So that vinegar thing and the shrubbery is what chased them? They didn't look like matured adults but if gray foxes, perhaps they were adults and very bold animals. It's a pitty you had to cut back, because your garden looks so peaceful and natural. We live in the countryside in the Odenwald forest in Germany. I am from Oklahoma but migrated here. The laws on wildlife here are crazy. Like you, I don't want to harm the foxes, but they must go somewhere else. There is so much forest around but they took up residence here. The water source may be what has attracted them. I keep my grounds really clear so there isn't anything to hide in. On the slope however, is thick brush and blackberry bushes where the den was found. So come spring, the slope will be cut to the ground. Now I know why my fish just disappears without a corpse. I blamed the cat next door, but mow I know the culprit. My dogs had stitches and lots of precautionary injections. Vet says the foxes had obviously attacked dogs before because that's very bold that they would come out in the open grounds to make multiple attacks without fearing humans. Stay safe, and keep an eye out come spring.

@@caffenolefussahvex1074 Thank you! Hopefully you’ll find away to safeguard your property. All of my neighbors now have dogs. It’s not ideal, considering they’re not too concerned with cleaning up after them, but they may be deterring the foxes a bit. They’re not keeping the raccoons, squirrels, or cats away, so we’ll see if the foxes return. If they do, we’ll be trapping and relocating them. It will have to be more than 10 miles away or they will return.

You have a lovely little set up for the foxes with your trampoline. Yes they love, love, love to bounce and play on it just like any human child would, and then that the perfect litter tray underneath for them. I bought a trampoline skirt and that lasted about a year until one fox decided to rip into it and destroyed it. 😮‍💨😮‍💨 If you like animals…which I don’t particularly, maybe just get a big dog that the family can love but occasionally sleep in a lovely dog hut outside. I’m sure the fixes wouldn’t like a big dog running around on their territory 😄 xx

Tanya, (or should I say Mother Nature) you definitely give out that welcoming vibe to all sorts of critters, lol! Sorry, but I just couldn't resist, I'm a bit naughty sometimes. I do know how you feel though, I was outside a few nights last week and had an extremely uncomfortable feeling that I was being watched, so I went indoors immediately. It's unsettling to find signs that you have wild animals living in your backyard. Years ago, when we rented a farmhouse, we kept smelling skunks at night, so we followed the recommendation of a friend that said to put mothballs in mesh bags and place them around the house and yard. I don't recall if that drove the skunks away or if the mothballs drove us away ...because we found a place in town shortly after that. I sure hope the vinegar works as a long-term solution. I hope you're having a wonderful week and that the foxes have moved elsewhere. ~Margie😊💚🐾🦋

Tanya that fox looked so "cute" sitting on top of the compost bin! LMAO. But what is the food source they are after and exactly where that den is!? They like frogs, small prey like snakes, mice etc. They are probably drinking the water from your pond too. They may also rummage through your compost bin for scraps. Maybe try sealing your bin with chicken wire until you ready to add scraps to it etc. I really feel for you Tanya, this can be so frustrating.

Well, best of luck getting rid of them. Here near Heathrow airport they are everywhere. On my 4 mile journey home at night I probably see at least a dozen running across the roads, In my garden they cause incredible destruction from digging out all my young plants to biting through the stems of tomato plants. I have found things they drag in, like children's toys, footwear, smoking aids, wallets and especially balls. You better take this seriously because you end up at your wits bend feeling the pain of the damage. Yes I have tried fencing, using urine, laying barbed wire and no, nothing has worked. Nearly every morning there are new holes dug, bungee cords bitten through, compost bags ripped apart and container plants dug out.

Hey Tanya, I saw you reply on Tribe of Judah Teach and subscribed to ur channel. Then i saw this ,and wanted to know if u got rid of the foxes. Any rate, lime from a hardware store should have lime available. you place it around the perimeter of your property an that takes care of all creature problems. Use that unless u own outdoor pets. I just looked this up. And this article said they hate areas that are lit up at night. So I was wondering if maybe some Dollar tree solar lights in the areas that they're coming through. Mixing chilli pepper and garlic in boiling water and spraying the solution around your garden is the easiest way to deter foxes from entering your garden, as they will be offended by the smell. Maybe even bagging the solution in net bags and hanging them on the far end of the garden on the fence. There are also ultrasonic devices, available for sale that emit a high-pitch noise that only animals can hear. I love problem solving 🤔; can you tell 😊
