This is fascinating. It's surprising to see some pros not really knowing how certain adjustments will make the bike feel. Not a dig, just interesting. I guess they get paid to ride fast, and someone else always adjusts their bike.
@FOXFACTORY5 жыл бұрын
Well said, just like any of us - some riders have a knack for this kind of technical stuff others happily let the experts take care if it. Their job is to ride bikes and our job is to tune at the end of the day. As you guys can see I think FOX offers more than just service and adjustment to our riders, and we wouldn't want it another way!

Hey guys! love your series! You should call up your Fox Live dev crew to see if they can come up with a telemetry/shock potentiometer instrumentation hardware setup to help accelerate the service and give your racers better service (and be better than your competitiors!) You could pinpoint if rebound/ compression is off other than by feel and experience (often limited by the rider's feedback)!

Hey fox. Loving the video series. Can you tell me what’s the average sag% front and back for your riders and does this vary between bike models?
@seanhornchek64405 жыл бұрын
check your user manual for the bike, it differs. usually between 20 - 35%
@laurentp895 жыл бұрын
I doubt front sag is measured, it is hard to get repeatable measurements. PSI-to-Weigth is a better metric for the fork, as seen in this video with Wyn and Jordi. For the back my guess is closer to 30% than to 35% for a race setup. Just my two cents though.

Question for you guys: How do you account for the slight loss of PSI when unscrewing a shock pump? I have that Fox digital shock pump and still find I can lose anywhere from 5-10 PSI when I remove the pump. Any trick to not letting a small amount of air leak out?
@masterzilch55995 жыл бұрын
The air leaks out when you screw the shock pump onto the valve, not when you unscrew the shock pump from the valve. To check this for yourself, borrow or hire a Quarq Shockwiz Air Sprung Suspension Tuning Device.
@chyu895 жыл бұрын
The air leak out when you unscrew is from "between the schrader and the pump."
@FOXFACTORY5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Adam, we can ask Jordi about this.
@adlevitt5 жыл бұрын
@@masterzilch5599 Thought I ran into the same issue of air loss when I tested out the Quarq Shockwix for a day last year. But I'll see if I can get my hands on one again to double check.
@masterzilch55995 жыл бұрын
@@adlevitt Hi there Adam, I was thinking.. In the name of "process of elimination", if you do get your hands on another Shockwiz, see if you can get another shock pump too. If you find that the pressure does drop after you remove the shock pump, try using a different shock pump, to rule out a faulty pump. Very unlikely to be the pump, but worth a try. Another thing to try, also very unlikely, you could try replacing the valve core. You'll need a new valve core and a valve core removal tool to do this test. You will hear air leaking out, as you unscrew the shock pump, but the air that leaks out "should" be coming out of the shock pump hose, not the shock.

Why don't they weigh the rider on the bike with scales under front and rear wheels? Wouldn't it give a better idea of how much weight is on the fork.
