I know it's 3 years since this video but I think it's pretty much a weekly venue now not, as it says in video, a lake where you can just turn up and expect to get on. much like most lake in France 👍

I first fished Abbey in 2001 not too long after it had opened. The weed was not such a problem then. I had 63 fish in a week including the "Horse" at just under 60lb. Does anyone else remember those days? The Bailiff was called "Titi". He was a knowledgeable guy who told me to follow the wind and not bait heavily, I never put any bait in on this complex to this day and bag up on bags without fail. Great memories of a great complex.

I was too busy chasing women back then at 21 but now I’m chasing monsters 😂 I bet it’s changed massively since then, the facilities are spot on but I bet it was nowhere near as pressured as it is now. 63 fish in a week is very impressive. Did you sleep at all? 😉 I love Abbey, already been once this year and me and a mate are back off again in just under 4 weeks … this will be my 8/9th trip in just two years. My PB has come from there, it’s just got everything you could need for a great “holiday” venue and very different from other places as you have the potential to move swims, but even lakes so long as theirs availability and it’s not on an exclusive booking. The bailiff here now “Dave” is a legend, lovely bloke and he is a fantastic angler. Knows every spot on every peg on EVERY lake (without the big headedness) plus his partner Nat. It’ll be sad when they leave but as you know, it’s a huge complex to run. Do you still fish? I know this is an old post - Fox is the only lake I’ve not unlocked properly so I’m just brushing up on solid bags as never really used them lots. I’ve had the odd go with them and to good effect but this time I want 20 done and ready to get going. Plus it’s on the same lake. Toms pretty local as I’m in the West Country (carot crunching, cider swigging dangler 😂 cheers buddy.

Got a good tip for ya - turn the bags inside out it takes the corners away

I have thought about that before, but tucking the corners normally ends up being my final way to get the bag really solid if I haven’t done it tight enough. If they got rid of the corners I’d probably struggle to get 100% of my bags as solid as I’d like.
