If you wee impacted - Buy a RV and park it in your Driveway during the rebuild. You can use your property utilities for hook ups, and kids are close to school, dogs get a place to stay. It is hard at first, but worth it. Use insurance money to buy it. Sell it later. That is what we did. With a family the only way to go.

Minute 4:20 - the block where u do not know what busissness offices / stores burned down - from left to right - Altadena Florist, Public thrift shop, United States Post Office , Rythms of the village clothing store, Dutch Oven Bakery , freddys antiques and estate jewelry - and then Joes Pizza at the end of the right side of the block...thats it. The dutch oven bakery is right where u standing in front of .....the point where all the rescue team is, is Joes Pizza at the right side of the block, with a view to the Jack in the box .... i do not live there, i checked it on google maps, if google maps is up to date with it, that was the business offices and stores which burned down sadly along so much other beautiful homes. so sad. all my thoughts are with u ppl in LA. love from europe

Just a thought, let’s stop building and rebuilding houses out of wood. Homes can be built to be much harder to accidentally ignite. No brush or flammable furniture etc., near the structures. No flammable roof materials, no firewood sheds. These types of tragedy’s will continue to be a danger especially since houses are frequently built so close together.. It would be the height of madness to rebuild the same types of structures with the same materials as what just burned. Prayers with the folks impacted by these fires.

Seems completely defeating and irrational on every level to rebuild without the ability to obtain home insurance in that area. Same situation in many parts of FL. However, people still do. Must be nice to run a business that protects life and property until it's not very profitable, and then you can just drop your clients when they are no longer worth it. P.S. - much of the infrastructure that runs underground has been severely damaged by the fires above.

Create defensible spaces around communities and homes! Have water and firefighters to respond to spot fires. Yeah, blame god. Thete was no lighting strikes, just homeless with matches or electric companies neglecting power lines or heading fire likelihood.
