PP started building homes in the 1920s. 100 years later, over 9,000 structures are there. many of which are now just toxic ashes. officials are trying to paint a rosy-type picture, "within a year" this and that. but, with all the toxic, potentially airborne chemicals in the area? they are working with very hazardous stuff. It really may take decades to fully rebuild the area. starting from a *disaster zone scenario, things/processes move *very slow. slow = years. not months.

The line and wait time for hazzard waste removal by the state is long and getting longer. We're right back to the 18-month government slow-walk due to the foolishness of California laws and Democrat governing bodies. So much for getting back to your property in a day as Trump wanted, or even a week as touted by Mayor Karen Bass. It's going to be a very long, tedious process due to government red tape. Getting to your property sooner has become a total scam. They say one thing and then do another. California is the epitome of government waste and government interference.

I sympathize with those who lost their homes, but rebuilding should meet today's safety and environmental standards. Permits exist for a reason: to ensure everyone's safety and protect our environment. It's only fair, as everyone else must adhere to these rules. In 2025, we can't afford to use outdated, potentially harmful methods. While their loss is tragic, this is a chance to build a greener, safer community.
