I distinctly recall that day in December when this was originally reported. I was a radio announcer from 8-12 pm and I told my boss I was thinking about talking about the reported shooting on the air. It was a Kansas City station with a large audience. My boss told me not to talk about it. The only time during my broadcasting at that station I was told NOT to discuss a certain current event. I didn't understand at the time but of course now I do. It was a big gun grab that didn't work out. Americans need a strong filter to media these days as every political party and news organization have an agenda.
