@@aden2447 I never said anything about the sentence. The example that the young man set was to forgive, love, and even show compassion for someone that irrevocably wronged him and his family. I believe the guilty party should pay the price of the crime and be punished. A takeaway message would be that despite what this woman has done, she can still turn her life around and change. Indeed she better, but it isn't up to us to forgive or not. We must forgive no-matter. What this young man proved was despite even the most egregious of sins, we must forgive and we can forgive, it's up to the Great Creator whether or not we are forgiven based off repentance.

Technically you do for morals. Without any god (not even just saying a Christian God) there is no foundation for morals or ethics. Without some absolute authority higher than humans there is nothing to distinguish that which should be done and that which shouldn't. You can always fall back on the golden rule, but even that is a matter of opinion without some sort of solid foundation. The only thing left without a universal standard is that which feels right to the individual. Why? You can tell she knew she was wrong. She went on the stand and said it. You can all judge her however you want. I think her punishment was fair. Race has nothing to do with this. There was no intent or motive. She Fudge up and a good person lost their life.

Black folks only understand tough love it seems. Throw the book at us: litany of charges, aggravated assault for every bullet fired... a far cry from gifts and hugs from the judge.
