So really the only thing those two women have in common is they both been with Diddy. But J-Lo established her name before and after Diddy, and has now been married to Marc Anthony and Ben Afflack on top of numerous albums and films. I have no doubt now that control was a major issue in her relationship with Diddy (he didn’t have it and that was a problem), while Cassie needed her connection to Diddy to expand her brand and career. Ultimately, her career was sidelined because of Diddy’s need for control and his abuse.

This whole ‘we wanted proof’ argument is perplexing in this instance. Cassie had multiple eye witnesses who corroborated her experiences including Tiffany Red, who she mentioned (not by name) in her law suit. Heck Tiffany wrote a whole article for Rolling Stone attesting to what she witnessed. Are people not aware that there WAS proof already including eye witness accounts? Also, no self respecting woman would make the damning allegations she did in that law suit if they were not true. She risked soiling her own reputation. How was it hard to believe her when she wasn’t the one who was ‘rumoured’ to be violent and a sexual deviant for YEARS?! All these ‘proof seekers’, in this case, are either wilfully ignorant or protectors of abusers.
