@@gideon7932 Not really "single-handedly". The Illinois Classic this year had all one handers in the final 5. Full one hand step ladder. In fact, the top 9 in standings for that tourney were one handers. We still have many great one hand bowlers.

@@JimFourOneTwoThree If Bill wins it and EJ flames out then maybe because that would get O'Neil pretty clear in the earnings race. All other metrics though it is EJ. He is pacing Belmonte in a lot of the all time metrics (remember he is nearly a decade younger). If he stays healthy he is easily top 3 all time. 40 titles and 10+ majors well within range.

He had already won by that point. He just threw random balls down in celebration, like he does when he needs 2 pins to win and he just fires his spare ball at the head pin. I would definitely not qualify this as a "missed spare" by any more. It was just a victory lap and he didn't feel the need to run real fast.

I think this was less about one handed or two handed and more about the lefties simply messing up each other's lines lol especially the two handed urethane throwers. That's always going to be their downfall. That and the unwillingness to at least try to switch to reactive.

@@akbarshabazz-jenkins7847it was this. The lanes got carried down, but it was worse on the left side because of all the urethane being thrown over there. Russo didn't have a strong enough ball to cut through it, EJ could put enough hand on it to make it work. Otherwise he would have been balling up to a Jackal Ghost

I bowled with EJ at the Dayton open. This was probably in the 2013-2014 timeframe. I don’t think he had made it to the tour yet, but the guy bled Motiv. He would talk about them in between shots. Little did I know that kid would turn into this guy. Small world. Gotta say. One of the nicest people. Crazy to see where he is 10 years later.

They had to deal with carry-down because there were 4 of them on the broadcast. Lefties have no clue how to bowl with traffic on their side of the lane and it really showed today.

Knowing angles and having that much power makes him almost unbeatable when he’s dialed in. EJ will be right there with Belmo, Earl, and PDW when it’s all said and done

Yep, usually it's the righties who have to deal with all the oil being pushed down by the urethane balls. Tonight both Jasper and Matt had to deal with all that pushed down oil, and even with balls as great as theirs, those 7 pins stood up way too often.

And the one hander reigns supreme. I didn't mind the two handers when it was a novelty early on with guys like Palermaa and Belmonte, but it's like more than half the people on tour do it now. As someone who grew up watching Norm Duke, WRW Jr, Parker Bohn III, Jason Couch, Chris Barnes, Patrick Allen, Pete Weber, etc, I always enjoy watching one handers more.

EJ Tackett truly a freak of nature with a monstrous release. Also, Jesper's game was so sad and frustrating to watch.. Those breaks were unforgiving towards southpaw 2 handers today. Only Eric got something out of it, but wasn't enough to stop a dialled in EJ.

The PBA telecasts were non-stop noise with the Gold Pins in the 2010's. The PBA can set its applause standards, The WSOB is a Major championship .

Matt Russo is an up and comer and has a bright future ahead of him. EJ is a generational Great who will go down in the annals of the PBA as one of its brightest stars, and he's in the middle of his prime. It would have taken a fantastic effort from Russo to keep this trophy out of EJ's hands.

@brich6875 Times change and people change, especially when they step away from the sport and see it thru the eyes of a fan. Take a look at Tom Brady and Peyton Manning's comments since they retired. Some of the things they say now, they would have ripped someone's head off when they was playing.
