If you think Jesper not striking is as Rob Stone says "bad breaks", it's not. It's bad ball choice and bad ball motion. Execution was fine, shouldn't have been in that 78U.
@DS-qz2gu
@DS-qz2gu 5 ай бұрын
For me, the only leave you can reasonably claim is a “bad break” is a solid 8 (9 for lefties), since a lot of the time that’s due to a bad rack. And even so, you can make an adjustment to avoid it if you leave it. So yeah, 100% agree with you here. Hate when people talk about bad breaks and luck.
@sonofnothing
@sonofnothing 5 ай бұрын
Yep watch the flat 7 hits, the ball deflects off the headpin pretty bad. The urethane balls tend to do that, and almost like carrying the 7 is luck vs leaving it being bad luck.

@@sonofnothing the lefties usually have the look with urethane for much longer, but with 4 of them on the pair they saw the urethane transition that's normally seen on the right. Bad ball choice, bad motion, bad ball. The IQ core is fantastic, but it does not match up to urethane at all, it's too much core without any asymmetry to help it lay down, and it just dumps all of its energy at your feet

I disagree, there’s very little luck in bowling IMO. There’s an adjustment to make pretty much every time you don’t strike, other than when you occasionally get a bad rack and leave an 8 pin (9 pin for lefties) or something like that. Definitely agree with your last sentence though; unlike a lot of sports, in bowling any professional can beat any other professional so literally anything can happen in a stepladder like this.
