not really, BJ tried to use more of his speed and forward ball roll to carry, but realistically thats just not the optimal angle for the ball to drive through the 5 to take out the 8. There was no luck factor in his solid 8 leaves. The luck factor was more so the light mixers that struck for Keplinger. If BJ hits the 16.5 board, it was an 8 pin. 17.5 high flush it was a strike.

Deo deserved to win this match, as he had such composure. Thing is though that he took his time, he followed a process, and if he really took his brain out of it...he must have succeeded. The problem Marshall Kent had was that he didn't account for the one guy lofting the urethane ball out to the arrows and creating or carrydown, which is why his ball didn't finish so well on several shots when he did hit the proper mark. He didn't bowl badly, but basically he needed to get the ball to about four and a half to about one and a half board to be able to possibly strike. Deo just really bowled as heart out, and he deserved to win because he stayed on target and maybe only had one bad reaction-- which was the big four - -but it was obvious that his speed wasn't a problem and somehow he just shot it a little farther right instead of a little farther left to start with. But he put on a great performance, and it was wonderful to see. He deserved to win this first title no doubt about it!
@TehWin38 ай бұрын
It would've been so different with any reactive from ie belmo/simo/troup. They're masters at playing left to right and that was honestly the way after all the urethane from first two. I feel for kent its not fun when you bring strong equipment to a cluster of dry/carry downlane. as a 2h leftie myself when playing with urethane his moves were less noticeable on the lane but more so on the delivery with the hand adjustments. He kept jumping between tilt but until he moved to 6 board at arrows he really didnt adjust rotation apart from the 6 split. Masterfully done and i agree wholesomely he deserved this win no matter all the haters on be it 2h, lefties or urethane 😂

Mikey is a perfect example of mind over matter. Bowling is 90% Mental. This pattern came down to a carry contest in most matches, but Mikey buried himself in the 2nd frame bc he was so nervous. It's harder than it looks to eliminate the crowd, your family, the television cameras, and everything else going on around. With experience, he'll have to learn to block all that out and focus on each shot. Having him mic'd up, you could hear him trying to talk himself into each shot. He'll be back, he's a good bowler. His nerves just got the best of him here. Deo Bernard seemed too young to know any better 😂
