The famous players don’t grind it out as GAs, positions coaches and coordinators at Unknown U and work their way up like non famous former players. Sanders immediately got a HC gig post his high school HC career. That’s not the norm but the exception. The grind isn’t for everyone and neither is coaching, in general.

First QB to over 1000 yards. All-time leading rusher for a QB. Might have just gotten that record beat. Completely revolutionized the QB position to what we see today. In his prime, he won even after prison.
