Corrections: 1) AJ grew up in Massachusetts. 2) AJ is 17 now. 3) AJ was offered the same $ or more at several schools. 4) He -- with help from his parents -- chose BYU for variables other than $ (K State & other schools offered more $). You may not like it. But let AJ speak for himself. No staff in the country is like BYU. Others will eventually catch up, but for now Kevin Young is looking unique in the world of college BB.

On Stephan A Smith his dad said that they didn’t tell him how much the NIL deals were worth so money wouldn’t be a factor. Also, 3 out of 4 schools offered the same amount of $5 million and the extra $2 million are endorsements which he would have gotten anywhere. Kevin Young is the biggest reason he’s going there. He built trust and BYU has brought in as of this year more 4-5 star recruits than they have ever done in combined years prior. Pretty crazy the work he has been able to do on the recruiting front. Egor Demin from Russia is also expected to be a lottery pick next year and is only 18 years old.

I wish to clarify the position of BYU regarding Dybantsa selecting BYU. Every major program nationwide has tons of wealthy supporters and alumni. Every program has access to wealthy donors. BYU is no different. To be sure, not one penny of charitable donations to LDS Church goes to athletics! NOT ONE PENNY!! BYU has wealthy alum who are donors to BYU athletics! DO NOT FORGET, Coach Kevin Young was the highest paid Asst Coach in NBA. Coach Young selected superb assistants to coach his Cougar Hoopsters. BYU has a strict code of honor for all students, even athletes. This Honor Code does not allow drugs or booze or tobacco or pre-marital sex!! Hence, few distractions for these top student athletes allowing them to focus on their sport, academics, and a bit of inter action with Christian guys/gals for dating. What parent would not want their gifted athletic son or daughter to be part of that very environment?? Remember Lenny Bias? What a great talent!! He just got drafted by the Celtics and dies of drugs hanging with the wrong crowd!! Sure, his death took place I think after his college career ended but you get the point.

Kid's 17. If he was 19, I think he would be in the NBA already. This isn't the NCAA's fault though. This is the NBA's fault for the one and done rule because it's clear he would have declared for the draft as early as humanly possible. Using this to cry about the how the NCAA does anything is disingenuous and just plain stupid... Rob.
