I’m a millennial and I’m 27. I don’t consider his shot unguardable. We’ve seen his shot get blocked by a center on the Knicks, and of course Jason Tatum. I USED to think that he was literally unstoppable, but players are starting to really figure him out - and when you think about his game with the defensive schemes that cripple him, it actually takes very little to bother him. Now, if his shot was on point and his confidence wasn’t deflated, I think that Boston would be scrambling right now. But, that’s the point: hard, physical defense can impact his psyche, and then everything else falls apart. It’s wild to see.

Fun fact. I have been hearing on some talk shows last few days that KD and Lebron cant carry teams any more because they old. Lebron is old I understand and a fact but KD is only 33. Same age Lebron was in 2018 when he carried those scrub Cavs to the finals. Lebron also had more miles on his legs when he was 33 and had a worse Cavs roster then KD has now with the nets. People need to stop defending KD. He must win this series or do not ever compare him to Lebron. KD just can't carry a bad or average team like Lebron did when he was 33 and isn't that guy in terms of leadership and putting a team on his back.

There are two reasons why Rob and Chris are right about this. One is the physicality of that game. The other is the passion that teams had for defense. Teams were insulted to let opposing teams score 115 on them on the road, let alone come into their house. There was a pure passion about defense that is barely existent today. Durant against those Bulls, they'd be salivating to humiliate him. You would think he murdered their entire family, with the sort of defense they would play on him. Pippen would guard him full court and then drop 25 on him at the other end. Rodman would guard him for fun. And the Bulls were far from the only team with that mentality.

I watched both eras of the game dating back to 82 till the present. First of all, there's no right or wrong answer to whether if this generation could play back in the 80' 90's era or vice versa. The game just changed which made this generation of ball players adapt more till this style of play. So who's to say that KD wouldn't adapt just like Michael Jordan had to do. He just didn't have a reason to. Just like some of the 80's 90's players would have to be in a lot better shape to keep up with the style of play this generation plays, which is a lot of run & gun play. There's a lot of players from the past couldn't run up & down the court without getting fatigued back then. While centers would punish down low this generational center would thrash the majority of them off the dribble & from the outside. So it goes both ways. Most people are gonna say their era was the best era. Fact is stars would adapt whether it's past or present. If Manute Bol could survive that era then KD MOST DEFINITELY could survive that era.

@dannyllerenatv86352 жыл бұрын
KD, Curry, and LeBron would still be able to survive and thrive in the 80s and 90s, but their games would definitely have to make some adjustments. They would all have to utilize the mid and low post more and they would have to take care of the ball more and cut those turnovers down because it was even EASIER to turn the ball over and have the ball stripped from you back then than it is now. They can still thrive off 3-point shooting, but having great rebounders down low and good screen setters would be crucial. 3 point shooting definitely spaces out the floor no question, but people also have to remember that elite defensive teams back then used to run very physical full-court presses to slow the game down. That would GREATLY cut transition and logo 3-point shots down.

People take the position of listing attributes to justify someone's greatness. "LeBron James is 6'8" 250lbs, he's unstoppable" but LeBron doesn't use his size when it counts, he chooses to pass. And he can be stopped... ask the Spurs. KD and his fans seem to think his skill is so far beyond anyone else that he's undoubtedly the best. But if he was 6'6" that wouldn't be the case. You have to produce. You can be capable of being the G.O.A.T. Of being unguardable. Of being a better scorer than Jordan. But you have to then accomplish it. KD is more skilled than Giannis and thinks Giannis shouldn't be nowhere compared to him. But what Giannis did last year was more impressive than anything KD has done. And he has 2 back to back MVPs in his pocket.

That is a fact. Especially about Giannis vs Durant.

Skill doesn’t adequate to the better. A lot of times the more dominant player comes out on top.

@@datsapaddlin You right but I just meant regarding his size. LeBron could drop 30 in the paint alone if he chose to use his size more.

I hate this younger generation, people throw the word GOAT around for any great player. There is no GOAT in this era. Just enjoy the game and stop thinking about legacy.

That was crazy to witness I'm a 90s era person 10-20 was my age in the 90s so i saw the Jordan rules in action. Boston celtics defense is not that. Bot as physical. Not even close they put jordan on the ground every position. That would be a flagrant today.

What LeBron James started is coming to an end. These new good teams are not filled with superstars chasing rings. And Golden State Toronto and Milwaukee have been the only teams to do it the right way as far as winning a ring.

@@kentonohio7614 lol what superteam goes to 2 Finals and wins 1 chip tho?? If tht case the 00s Pistons were a superteam 😂🤦🏽♂️ Besides my point was the GM put Celtics together and they were past their prime unlike Heat/Cavs Bron 2nd stint/Warriors with KD who imo are the only superteams in history because multiple stars colluded to play with each other in their prime. Teams tht draft their stars and sign role players aren't superteams imo especially when i never heard the term superteam until Bron went to Miami 🤷🏽♂️
