The Top spin is a very practical basic figure employed at all levels (except Bronze) for checking or changing direction, avoiding collisions with other couples. In open levels it is easily followed by dancing multiple chasses or extended weave. Once the man has mastered the entry by controlling his weight and foot and leg tone he will find it easy and very useful. If the lady is drifting in harmony with her partner and not rushing to her next step it is easy to follow providing her partner does not collapse his weight into the right foot.
