Mark made the best point on the chip. The ONLY reason to have and hide this chip was to reengage players who drop off. It will fail the objective completely, this chip will not bring anyone back. It will only make more drop off.

I'll have a hard time translating this chip to my elderly father, who really likes FPL, but is not great in English. It's very complicated, but seems really fun. Sure it favors those who are already very engaged in the game and not casual players, but boo-hoo. Every casual alway has the option to become more engaged themselves. This is exciting!

Something to note about the scoring of the new chip, you get more basic points (excluding goals and clean sheet points) for a draw of a 'weaker' team (against a five place higher team) than a win for the top teams. So the risk is mainly of losing a game.

Az’s original list of reasons for why he doesn’t like the AM chip are all the reasons needed to make it a good chip. As Mark said, but Az seemed to be contesting, if none of those things were in place, almost everyone would pick Arteta and Slot in the same way almost everyone captains Salah and Haaland - as you have pointed out loads of times previously (like with the price points this season), people need reasons to incentivise/prevent them from picking virtually the same teams as one another.

It’s worth bearing in mind, though, that the Assistant Manager chip falls within the three-players-per-club quota. If you already own Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) and you bring in Arne Slot, you would only have room for one more Liverpool asset for those three Gameweeks.

I feel like you can get royally screwed on the second or third week with the new chip if you plan your AssMan based on the 5+ rank higher mechanic and the table changes based on results of the first one or two weeks.

I actually started the season with Palmer, Saka & Salah and I was tumbling down my minileague before wildcarding into Halaand and Arsenal. The rest is history. Goodness knows where I'd be if I hadn't wildcarded!!

The reason Thomas Frank said he had no clue why the home and away form is so different is because he couldn't say all the teams we've played at home are rubbish. They haven't parked the bus away from home all season but if Ajer is match fit they could play a 3-5-2 formation with Mbeumo up top and more down the middle . Brentford have won all of their 3 visits to the Bridge conceding 1 goal and scoring 8 so obviously things have got to change sometime and I'm going to captain Palmer and bring in Enzo!

Surely this is opening the door to adding in a manager selection as default for the whole season. so like 15 players + manager for the season. feels like it would have been easier to adapt to as well rather than this for 3 weeks only and blah blah blah. as a one off chip I just find it gimicky and not worth it, but if it was for the whole season I'd probably feel a bit better about it.

It’s not 10 points for a win vs a team 5 places or more above, it’s 10 extra points so 16 plus the goals and clean sheets, and 8 for a draw not 5

Palmer is a better captain this GW than Salah. Heck, Saka will rival Mo this week. Fulham are a very underrated defence, Robinson is a very good defensive player who has the pace and nous to largely nullify Salah's influence.

It's basically FPL's version of Numberwang. It's stupid, convoluted, badly thought through novelty and shouldn't be humoured as anything other than that. Having it override all the other, classic, chips FOR 3 WEEKS is the real shark jump moment. It's just laughably stupid. What happens to the money you've spent on it when the 3 weeks is up...? Is it returned to your team...? I feel really sorry for the people in the top 10k atm, because having this dumped on a great season would really, really suck.
