In game 2 of the finals, malme moved his battery from above the core to just behind it. That saved him from an early death because one of the first cannon hits against him went through the top row; if the battery had still been there it'd probably have taken out the whole base.

Question because I’ve played the game and genuinely cannot find a tactical benefit to it; why does basically every upper player on the cave sorta maps just. Genuinely refuse under any circumstances, including canons and snipers, to fully defend their mines? Whether its blocking the entrance… with background bracing that lets EMPs through, or an energy shield… that only covers 1/3rd of the space, letting canons and lasers over the top. The response is almost universally to just. Let half the mines get shutdown for the first 5 minutes. Or continuously rebuild 1-4 per shot. All the while leaving the literally irrelevant defenses unimproved Especially with EMPs, since the damage isn’t of the kind that charges a commander active lots
@saltyowl32297 ай бұрын
I am myself’s strategy approaching the 2 hour mark is a great example of the way I think it should be done… a lot more often? Most people refuse to do connectors with anything but wood or rope. But knowing there’s a buzzsaw on the field and enough chip damage flying to destroy wood accidentally, takes the time and resources to just front it with metal. Then putting extra resources into adding plating to ensure that no lucky pair of nukes could get to the core, by adding some metal to nullify small arms fire, ensuring that the nukes themselves would have to hit plating 3 times without repair, thus preventing the maximum burst of two. Yeah its expensive but it eliminates a HUGE amount of risk in a lot more circumstances than it actually gets done. I’d say my main point is that I’d like to understand why people seem to disregard that so often for what appears to me as just minimal speed increases to an extra weapon or late game mine upgrade or turbine with no defenses. I don’t say it like that to imply they’re all missing the obvious, but because I feel like IM missing something here and I’m trying to make it as clear as possible what I am seeing, so it’s easier to figure out what it is I’m trying to figure out
@TomLeys7 ай бұрын
@@saltyowl3229 Repairing metal plates when they get damaged from nuke AoE is too expensive. You can trap yourself in a death spiral by trying to repair metal being continuously nuked. Plates on spindly extensions are just asking for a plasma or cannon shot, usually not economically worth shooting at that sort of extension but if it is cut it's going to drop multiple plates costing you hundreds of metal. Regarding EMP defense, after the first EMP lands you're going to be already behind. It's scary (and potentially counterproductive) to go further behind by focusing your limited resources on building new defenses rather than saving for the next tech building or weapon. All these rushes depend on sacrificing some early defence to race to some objective (nukes, heavy weapons, full eco) before your opponent. Extra defenses slow you down.

Fortified sniper usage really annoy me. So glad they lost in semi.
@sensha54707 ай бұрын
Fortified had a plan every game, they knew the game and knew the commanders they were using, and abused them perfectly. MAF did none of it, they played standard and hardly accounted for anything fort did. They should have looked at who they're facing and knew what was coming at them, because it was extremely predictable. Game1 fair, just standard outplay. Game2 howis are already standard, and your opponent has even better howis at the price of having to wait MUCH longer to fire. Fire first, and have AA ready. MAP did neither, then bitched about "OP commander grr, saw that coming." But if they saw it coming, then why didn't they counter it? Game3 there's literally a single reason to ever pick that commander. You already know it's likely. The second you see swarms come from up and down, you know the entire game hinges on who has map control because there is NO other world than the one we saw: four nukes flying every minute or so... so why would you tank up and not even try to contest? You can't tank 4 nukes!

gendering is one of the worst things that happened to the english language. It's incredible confusing to no natives like me and makes 0 sense, especially when you know peoples gender. Isn't it misgendering when you gender individuals?
@nerd1000ify6 ай бұрын
It's only misgendering if you use the wrong gender for a person (like referring to a person who identifies as male using 'she'). The rules are something like this: Only living things have genders. This is different to some other European languages like German and French where most non-living objects also have genders. It's usually ok to assume a living thing's gender is the same as its outwardly presenting biological sex unless you're told otherwise. He/him or She/her. People who don't match this assumption will usually find some way to tell you how they prefer to be referred to. If the subject is a person and you don't know the gender (or they prefer not to have one), use "they/their" If the subject is not a person and you don't know the gender use "it/its" There are two strange exceptions to the rules that I am aware of. The first is that you can use the female gender for watercraft (boats, ships and submarines). The second is that under some circumstances it is ok to use 'it/its' for babies and small children, as if they were a non living object. Neither of these make sense, but you can just ignore them because the regular rules can be applied to these cases instead and you will still be speaking correctly.
