The wiiware version did. There are 2 versions: This one which is the Japanese retail exclusive with the story mode and additional content included, and the wiiware version which omits those and was released internationally. Though I am with you this was stupid regardless

The game's name is Bomberman Blast & the story mode is japanese exclusive.

The WiiWare version known as Bomberman Blast is called "Wi-Fi 8-Person Battle Bomberman" in Japan And those online modes were compatible with the disc version (full version) Some emotes, such as somersaults, were only available as challenge rewards in Story Mode NG+(In-game it is called Loop 2), and could potentially be seen in worldwide matching.
