That's exactly what I do as well! Stack one ounce coins for maximum future cash out value and then have some fun and collect the 1/10 ounce gold coins. Your right- the 1/10 ounce have such a high premium anyway, might as well collect while you stack them. Great video, love the topic!

Hi Jorge! My single bar (1/100 ozt = 0.31g) actually came with the case like that. I found an eBay listing here but it seems pretty expensive: www.ebay.com/itm/333845521858

I think the 1/10 are a good entry point for many people. I personally prefer 1/4 or larger bullion but will get 1/10 if the price is right. Most of my gold is circulating coins as I seem to find the best deals on them. Gold sovereigns making up the majority of my stack
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
I love the history of circulating gold coins which makes me want to stack them, especially at their lower premiums. I'm just apprehensive about when it's time to sell because I have heard some rough stories from folks trying to liquidate them. That being said, the pre-33 US gold is doing pretty well right now, wish I would have bought more when it was closer to spot! Always great to hear from you, Dylan!

Lately I’ve been buying 1g gold button bullion from a local jeweller for 3.5% premium over spot… which i think is a pretty awesome price and the buttons look good with all the usual stamps. Would this be a bad idea to continue buying do people think?
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could call around and see what people would be willing to pay for something like that? To me personally, 3.5% on something so fractional seems fine, but you never know until you try to sell it. Probably not a huge market for this (outside of refinery) so a LCS might pay you back from spot if you try to sell. Let us know what you hear when you shop around for buyback prices
@urbanaerials56142 жыл бұрын
@@SilverForeverX thanks heaps for the reply, yeah good idea I’ll definitely have to check out what they’re like to resell. planning to keep them for a long term holding so spot price resell is okay to me, and they’re quite affordable to build up my stack of gold buying a few at a time.
@urbanaerials56142 жыл бұрын
@@SilverForeverX sorry another side question if you don’t mind, I’m very new to stacking. I’m in Aus and I also want to stack silver. Perth mint kangaroos are $41ea (aud) and spot price is $33.78au. But I can get a local bullion 10oz cast for $380 or a Perth mint double pressed high shine for $411. What do you think would be the better option? I’m leaning towards the cheaper cause it’s cheaper to spot. It’s funny, from what I can tell, Perth mint bullion is more expensive to buy in Aus than in the US.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
@@urbanaerials5614 It's so hard to say. So much depends on where you live and your plan for selling. If it were me personally choosing between Perth Mint products, I would probably choose 10 x 1 oz national bullion coins over the 10 oz bar because the price per ozt is the same. Having 10 coins gives you more flexibility to liquidate 5 oz, whereas you don't have that option with the 10 oz bar. At the end of the day, if you're stacking for weight, then the discounted local bar may be the better option, but the biggest factors when comparing silver products are (1) what's the premium to buy and (2) how much premium will you get back when you sell? Depending on the market, some local shops might not even want to buy a random 10 ozt bar and they may give you less than spot. When you're starting out, it's really important to get a "lay of the land" for what prices your local coin shops (or online vendors) are selling/buying for. Best of luck with whatever you decide for yourself!

Started with 1oz bars - Britannia, RCM, and scored an Una and the Lion. Added the the same 5G Britannia. Love the Britannia series. Since then switched to 1 oz coins. Every purchase in 1 oz hurts. Plan to eventually move to 1/4 which are more manageable. Side note - the 1/4 isn't that much smaller than 1/2 just thinner. 1/10 next after I fill a tube of gold (personal OCD goal). Want a tube of each size.

If gold goes to $5,000 per ounce, every coin you sell will be reported to the IRS. Whereas, it will take longer for a 1/10 oz to reach that amount. Therefore, I prefer the 1/10 oz because I'm stacking for retirement. I plan on selling my 1/10 oz gold as supplemental income in retirement (a few here, a few there, as needed). I figure I can get what I paid for them in the future, therefore, I'm not out anything. I'm preserving my wealth. At my age, I'm done playing the stock market game. I had to start over too many times in my lifetime. That being said, If I would have kept my 401K account I would most likely lose my savings just about the time I want to retire. This is much safer and I predict the gold will go up in value not down, and I don't have the risk of the stock market.

Unless you know someone who has a shop or in somewhere, 10th oz has a high premium. Not worth it, unless its all you can afford.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's remarkable how different the premiums can be. I did a video last month showing that 1/10 AGEs ranged from 15-55% premium on the top 10 online dealers! For me, I like to STACK 1 oz gold and collect the tenths... but I definitely wouldn't advise fractional gold for pure stacking
@ineffably_described3 жыл бұрын
Nice hold stack SF. I would be thrilled to trade a one oz AGE for any 9 in your collection there.. you've got some high end stuff. I wouldn't take the same trade for 9 1/10 oz valcambi bars that is for sure. Where'd you pick up the Brittania bar?

Silver Forever if you stack 1oz gold and you collect 1/10 oz gold what would use if SHTF happens?
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
Silver, assuming we get to a point where people are transacting in metals. Obviously the fractionality of 1/10 oz gold provides an advantage over 1 oz gold for situations like this, but you'd still be SOL at smaller purchases unless you had some silver. To prepare for SHTF, I think there are many things that are far more important than metals -- food, water, ammo, hygiene, vices.. if you have those bases covered, you wouldn't need to buy with metals and you could always barter with those supplies. If YOU were in a SHTF scenario, would you be willing to trade your life-sustaining supplies for metals? I think the real value of stacking gold for SHTF is coming out the other side, converting it into the new currency. Interesting to think about!
@jrtjonathanwinchell39552 жыл бұрын
@@SilverForeverX I don't think the Government will ever go back to gold and silver standard because no stores, no gas stations or other places will know what to do with it and they wouldn't accept it. I will say this in Utah, Nevada and New Hampshire they accept Goldbacks. To me that's worthwhile and acceptable. If California gets them I am in favor of it.
