Fragrance Battle: Wall Street by Victor vs Business Man by Panouge

I may have commented on Business Man before but it has fond memories for me. When I was 18 I went on a family holiday to Nea Makri in Greece. This was in 1987. The waiter at the hotel was a really nice man and always wore a very distinctive aftershave. At the end of the holiday my dad asked him what it was and it turned out to be Business Man. A fragrance that if available in the UK where I live certainly was not well known. Years later my dad and me got talking about that holiday and he remarked that he could still remember that fragrance. Anyway, I managed to get him a bottle but I had to have it shipped from Italy. It put a smile on his face when he smelled it. Me too. It's a great fougere. This is how fragrances can help to make memories. My dad is 80 now and still rocks this and Kouros. I very often steal a little when I go to visit my parents.

Nice story, thank you. By the way, I remember how classy parfum was used by another waiter in hotel in Egypt in 2021, but I was too shy to ask. He was old enough. The scent was sooo classy, definitely not typical Eastern sweetie.

Have both of them and they are fantastic...another under the radar scent, but from the 70s, you should try is Eau Cendree by Jacomo, a true jewel.

It seems like men's fragrances until the 90s were much more aimed at business men than today. Lauder for Men is another fragrance I associate with sharp dressed business men (probably because of the advertisements). I hope you'll review it one day.

Wall Street is one of my favorite colognes it’s my go-to for rainy days in the spring time. The carnation note really makes it for me. I’ve never tried Business Man but I’ll have to look for it

Wall Street is a very unique scent I love the look more than the scent I feel like, not sure if I’m going to keep them. I listed them on my Mercari page. Business man however is fantastic

Great review but have an unrelated question. i was at local Dillards dept. store and asked for a sample spray of Fahrenheit. The lady would not spray it on my wrist and insisted on spraying the little card. Is that like a rule? Thanks.

I picked up Business Man a few months ago. I dig it. But I'll probably move it along off the shelf. Something in me snapped and I realized I had like 20 bottles that smelled like Drakkar and I had to say enough is enough. Business Man is pretty great, but it ends up smelling just too similar to Drakkar for me to want to wear it. Wall Street has been on my radar for a long time but just haven't found a deal I liked. I'm going through an incense phase right now too so I bought the Business Man right before I started wearing more incense. So it's just collecting dust. Probably going on my Mercari soon. But man, those two bottles are just iconic.
