Fragrance Clones: Worth It?

this topic is a general discussion as per what to expect from cloned fragrances of famous designer and niche fragrances, and are they worth it? hope it helps a few people who asked me this few times :)

I buy clones because I have kids and spending $300 or more on a fragrance will take money from them. I love smell awesome but my family comes 1st.

What I want for colones is, very close to the original for a very low price. Not that I want to replace the original, but for me, I use clones often while saving those more expensive originals. Using Aromatic Future, $10 100ml, to save my 200ml Sauvage... yes please. Same with Aventus. I couldn't find ADG Profumo clone so I had to get my second 180ml bottle. I would love a clone of ADG Profumo so I can save both of those bottles more.

as you know very well, price does not automatically guarantee quality. it just guarantees the niche company VERY high profits. yes they might contain higher quality ingredients, such as Creed, but does that really justify the grossly insane prices? if a small company, like DUA or Alexandrias, can make nice quality products and sell them at a reasonable prices, does that make them inferior fragrances? to me, and you've mentioned this alot, is that Creed should really be called Greed. that's all it is. just like tom ford. people are just buying the name, not really the fragrance. if you want to buy the fragrance then that's when you buy the clones. in the end, no one but you, knows if this is really the real item or not. it's like fragrance=$25.00......frangrance + niche name=$400.00. i guess if you have the money to waste, go ahead and keep your head up with an empty wallet. some people wear their fragrances just for their own pleasure and no one else. which is fine. but in the long run don't men and women wear their scents to attract the opposite sex? i've worn colognes i personally don't really like, but if my girlfriend loves it, and gets me special treatment...hell, i'm wearing it!!

All i can say if you smell Aventus even for just one time in your life don't buy CDNIM I had Aventus and I enjoyed a lot but decided to go blind with CDNIM just because of price and all the hype around it ... But ... But it was super duper synthetic imo i gagged whenever i smelled it. If you wonder how Aventus feels like definitely check CDNIM out but never blind buy it. But if already have Aventus never ever think about it and just enjoy your fragrance.

Thank you for this video, it has helped me see the light and understand where I stand. You are totally honest and I admire you for your time to explain in great depth what the fragrance game is about in not just certain aspects but in many. I have deeply learned quite a lot from just this video alone and really really will look forward to any more you may upload.Finally I must say through my experience since the early 80's is testing fragrances at the store if permitted and eventually you will find what you really desire, clone or no clone!

I regret spending money on Creed Avantus since I bought Club de nuit intense. The pineapple note on CDNI is more pleasant than pineapple note on CA,, therefore I prefer CDNI over CA

I have around 30 clones from various house's , all of them only last for 3 to 4 hours and there never as rich smelling as the original's, the arabian ones never project well because of the type of alcohol they use. Creation lamis was the best clone house I tried ,although the sprayers leaked and the bottles were tacky, I was disappointed with flavia and estiara I thought they would be better as there's are a bit pricier . I'll stick with original's from now on. A lot of my clones I'll probably go in the bin . Clones are way overhyped online especially sterling perfumes.

If you want to smell like a king you need to pay like a king but if you want to save some money and smell like you imagine a king smell then you can buy clones. Life is tough, luxury products are expensive and oure hobby is not a cheap one. I decide to stop buying clones and save monney for the real version. I am not a colectionar I am just an ordinary man who like to smell nice.

Basically, not everybody have the money to buy an Expensive Cologne as Creed or whatever therefore, the only way is to use an alternative As you said life is tough especially if you have a wife and kids

I have a huge amount of fragrance dupes, nearly all of them only last around 3 hour's. There missing a lot of key note's, the bottle's and sprayers, are usually poor quality, Armaf, la rive, and creation lamis are probably the best I've tried. Eastern fragrances don't project well as they don't contain alcohol . I've bought a lot of oil's lately aswell the Al rehab oil's have been reformulated recently and there pretty poor performer's. I've heard club de nuit has been reformulated recently Aswell.

Needed to inform you to checkout cigar black oud( however it contains no oud) its different on the dark and sweet side, it's tar smell at first conclusion , when I tested it and then later after weeks when I bought it my conclusion changed to a new one, it's better than before it really lasts longer on cotton fabric and it's great, very different , I got it for around 11 dollars here in India , check it out brother. And please do full review of your initial impressions of the perfumes you have covered. I need to know your view of Jacques Bogart OMS oud edition again, since I bought it after your help. Don't you get the vibe of a girls scalp as they apply oils and other stuffs on head, I get that somewhat, do share. Love from same people brother here in India Thanks.

Here in India you can get 7 bottles of ventana as to a 100 ml bottle of sauvage. I love sauvage and have stocked it,still have ordered ventana to save the sprays of sauvage.
