Hi Tara- found your channel recently, now starting from 1st one. I keep hearing great things about Tobacco Vanille, and this video became the tipping point, so I just ordered. I’m in this chypre thing currently, but winter months make me love bourbon and whisky, so I think I will love it. Speaking of alcohol, I noticed some Homebrewer books on your shelf. Are you a Homebrewer as well?

Lancome: Magic Noire ( (Young, having the time of my life and future Husbond thougth I was so sexy yet classy 😘) 10. MFdK: BR540 ( 😬 I know 🤭 I like it but don’t think it is THAT special and fantastic, sorry 🥺) 11. Nejma: Parfum D’Alice ( I see it at Niche websites, but nobody talks about it 🧐 but I love it 😍) 12. A wonderful video! Zara recently did their take on a Tobacco-Vanille-esque scent with Warm Black. Probably my favourite frag ever by them and incredibly under-priced. 🤫 The way you feel about Olympea is the same way I feel about Encre Noire Sport. I do like it and it is excellent value for the money, but I just can't seem to get along with the vetiver Lorson uses anymore. I dunno, we'll see what the nose says in a year!

I know you do a lot of research for some of your videos so I feel safe in suggesting these: I would be fascinated by a video on why different people smell things in different ways. There is so much research on the genetics of the olfactory receptors and their variation. There are so many interesting papers on things such as how certain people can't smell certain things yet others are super sensitive to them. Also how people designing fragrances sometimes say they have merged senses, e.g. smelling colours etc. I know Jo Malone has talked about "feeling a scent" etc. I know you've done videos like this in the past so thought I'd suggest something you might even already be planning! Also maybe how mood affects how we interpret smell or how scents evoke emotions and memories. Maybe also one on who actually makes and designs fragrances, which houses have manufacture on site which don't, how that affects how they are perceived by the fragrance community etc, the difference between niche and mainstream maybe too, because I feel that it's blurring. Good luck!

Thanks, Claire! I love those ideas and was planning on some already, but I would be interested in learning more about these things as well! There is a lot of interesting research on olfaction and I was definitely planning to do one related to memory since I used to be a memory researcher. :)

Hi Amber!!! So glad to see you! I have a few, but lots of designer stuff that you'd find in Ulta or Sephora. It's been forever since I've smelled Fantasy! Have you tried Jessica Simpson Fancy? I love that one. It's sweet, so I'm not wearing it a lot right now, but it's great for cooler weather.
