Back in the 80's, my GF worked for a cosmetics line at a department store and would give me tester bottles. I've been buying testers when I can find them to save money. Sometimes they even have the fragrance notes on the bottle. Who needs to pay more for the box when it only gets tossed anyway. Great vid!

But how can I know if the specific product I want comes with the cap or with the box missing? Is a random guess?

If there is a cap shown in the photo on the site it will likely have a cap but we cannot guarantee it. If it does not come in a box it will be packaged safely in bubble wrap or other padding, so please be assured even without the box it will get to you safely!

Testers seem like a no brainer. Any reasons not to buy testers? I plan on getting the same cologne - Gucci Guilty pour homme edp. I will use my cap if the tester does not come with one. Sometimes the bottle will say tester on it…is it a sticker you can easily peel off?

Some are a sticker, some are not. I think the main reason people would go for the regular instead of the tester would be if its a new scent to them and they need a cap, or if it's a gift!

Branding, some people feel it is "less than" since it isn't in the exact form it was intended to look like for the customer. Sometimes the cap is different, some are really into the complete bottle design. Some people have smug distrust and believe the tester bottle is made by Fragrancenet or other seller rather than the official company. Also, some people question how old the tester is -- why did it not make it to a retail store as a tester? So they feel the freshness of this version is less than if they bought the version designed for the consumer. Hope this helps, these are just some reasons!

For the same reason people pay tens of thousands of dollars more to buy natural diamonds than lab grown diamonds at the same quality or someone pays thousands more for a real Gucci purse than an exact replica. Some people, when they buy something for themselves, want the realest most authentic version of that thing for themselves. In this case, the point isn’t that someone else smells the same thing on me, it’s that I wake up and know I am spraying the most authentic and curated version of the scent that was created for me to purchase and wear rather than to be set on a shelf for passers-by to sample. It’s worth the extra money for the personal experience.

@@stevenmueller1311 Hi, Just to clarify, testers are made at the same time as the regular fragrances. They are created new and fresh just like the others, for stores to purchase to use as testers. So it's not like it's inventory that never made it out, it's made new for purchase by everybody as needed :)

Why does the testers always say not for sale, illegal sale?!

Hi! No, all of our sales are perfectly legal. Testers are designed by manufacturers to be used in retail stores for people to try out the fragrances. When being used as a tester in a store, they cannot sell the tester as it's being used by people. Sometimes manufacturers will put 'not for sale' on the bottle to make it easier for stores and their patrons to discern that the product is a tester and isn't to be bought. Since we are only selling them at our online store completely new and unused, we can sell them, but they may still have that 'not for sale' on it since that's just the way it is designed.
