Matt, I got whisked back to my high school days when you used SOH-CAH-TOA. @@cityguyusa I've had extremely good luck with Sketchup measurements! In my experience, they tend to be notably more accurate than anything I can measure with a tape measure after the fact. Our trig function mnemonic was "Oscar had a heap of apples": "Oscar had" -> opposite / hypoaneuse; "a heap" -> adjacent / hypoaneuse; "of apples" -> opposite / adjacent for sine, cosine and tangent respectively. I use geometry and trig often enough that I remember the basics. I've forgotten the double angle identities though, but I remember they exist so I can look them up when I need to. I've also used Law of Sines and Law of Cosines often enough to remember them. I don't think I've ever used Law of Tangents.

Congrats on choosing stick over mig. I know you said it's because ur more comfortable with stick , however, I hope you are going to use a 7018 rod. Anyone with two eyes and an a-hole can mig weld. Pull the trigger and out squirts weld. Besides , an ordinary mig welder produces a weld that is not recognized as structurally sound. 7018 low hydrogen rods are. It takes some skill to weld with stick. Tig also takes skill, if done right, it is great for a root weld ,but not a structural weld. Of course there exceptions to every rule. If I'm building something for use on the streets and highways carrying thousands of pounds, I would want do it to the best of my capabilities. Keep up the great work. Rick.

Hmm, watching you build this new trailer, and I realised, wouldn’t retractable rollers be a good idea? Would make it easier to push/pull the logs closer to the front, and since you mentioned that you wouldn’t want the logs sliding around as you’re going, they would need to lower themselves out of the way when in transportation. Some sort of lever would probably make this possible. Anyways, food for thought. 👍 I really like how you tackle these unusual DIYs lol 😊😊😊
@TheBigburcie5 жыл бұрын
He addressed that in the previous video. Because logs are irregular shapes, they wouldn't necessarily roll very well and possibly catch. It's also one more thing that could fail. An angled rear edge will lift most logs over and is basically bomb proof.
