[JEREMY COWART] Celebrity Photography and Founder of Help-Portrait
Season 3 Episode 1
We pulled up to his Los Angeles home and was immediately welcomed by a laid-back persona mixed with southern hospitality. Dodging driveway toys and children's bikes then graciously greeted with hugs and hot cocoa, we sat and chatted with a man of talent that ranges far beyond a camera.
Jeremy Cowart is a powerful name and a trailblazer in the photography industry. But it's not just his photographs that are creating a craze; it's his art, his nature, his philanthropic platforms, his talent and his unbelievable like-ability. Besides the fact that his viewfinder has seen the likes of many major celebrities from Nashville to Los Angeles, he balances his passions with other arts, his family, and giving back.
From his job of graphic design and then making the jump to photography, Jeremy quickly earned the respect of artists, photographers, and major celebrities alike. But in the eyes of those outside the industry, it's his Help-Potrait movement that put his philanthropic aspirations on the map. In a relatively short amount of time, Cowart created a worldwide event through Help-Portrait with thousands of photographers worldwide sharing their time, equipment and expertise to give to those less fortunate.
Through other projects such as Cowart's moving work with "Voices of Haiti", his upcoming iPhone app, his LifeFinder Tour, work, and his family, it's amazing to think that he can balance it all. But today, with his charming wife, Shannon, and two darling children, we take an inside look on what truly is most important.

It's just that we are so used to people in the art with "dark sides" that we expect that, but in fact there are very many people that are like Jeremy that I personally know, just nice, kind, not perfect, just very nice and without any "dark side".

@ 34:48 so true!! and 35:00 my neighbor just got a DSLR about a month ago from Best Buy and now she wants to do photo gigs waoow!! and im mad at her but i think she should wait and get things right before she steps into a growing market, just cause you love photography doesn't mean that you are a photographer .

Very nice portrait! Makes me wonder what his quirks is, what's his dark or bad sides, felt almost a tad too perfect, if you know what I mean :)

Actually, I should have been sleeping for about 2 or 3 hours already but I was so interested from the first 5 mins that I pushed it up to Full-HD, let it load for along while (yeah, slow network atm) and watched the whole episode! Just great and so... So close. But now, good night to all! ;P

Very inspiring to watch a truly passionate individual... passionate in life, passionate in family, passionate in work. Jeremy seems to have successfully been able to manage his own juggling act. Very well done!

The downward spiral that is photography. The advent of the digital age has spawned a generation of photographers not versed in the technical. Have them make a silver gelatin print and they would be lost. Sad.

Help Portrait is such an incredible idea. I find a new respect for the man behind the camera. It gives me so many ideas and it has inspired me to take that idea and expand on it in my neighborhood. Awesome legacy you have left on the world, Thank you.

I found Jeremy when I first joined PPA and went browsing through the talent in my state. His work was the most impressive. California would be pretty to visit but I would never leave Tennessee for it.

I was getting bored with this. Can't believe I'm saying this but I actually stopped watching. The IPhone thing was getting old. Not sure what they were trying to show here but it failed miserably to keep my attention. The face at 12:08 was amazing, though. I'd love to know who that is!
