Nova Luna is still my favorite of the bunch. The time-cost based drafting (like in Patchwork but without the button cost) is more interesting and it's the best looking one too.

My wife and I really like Sagani (more her) and Habitats (more me) which have similar mechanisms too. However, Framework gets played the most as it really is so streamlined. The quick drafting and straightforward scoring that you described so well in Framework make it very easy to teach and play any time. There is just no fussing around at all. Plus carrying it all in that bag makes it also easy for travelling! Thanks for you insightful videos!

Two of our favorites with this mechanism are Istanbul (the Dice Game) and The Quest for El Dorado. Istanbul you are racing to get a certain number of rubies. The Quest for El Dorado is a literal race to the end. A lot of co-ops have this type of win condition. Mists Over Carcassonne is a new one that has points. Kids games seem to have this more often as well - Catan Jr (place all your lairs) and My First Carcassonne (complete roads to place all your meeples) are good examples.

I've played Nova Luna on BGA and look forward to playing it more. My favorite race game where you win by expending something (stars in this case) is Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia.

Thanks Steven! I'll add Nova Luna to my BGA list.

This sounds a lot like Nova Luna. Wondering if it’s worth owning both. Thoughts?

I can't recall playing Nova Luna, so I'm sorry I can't help with that.
