Nothing wrong with the current trackpad on my 16, it's actually really good for a windows laptop, but the macbook trackpad just feels really nice

When I saw this was streamed 3 hours ago I was like "dang it, I missed my opportunity", but then Nirav said he's not going to answer questions about future features and such, which is totally what I wanted to ask. Buuuuut, in case folks from Framework read this and need statistics on what people want, I would also put my interest on CAMM2. I dream of getting a Framework 16 with Arrow Lake and 128-192 GB of RAM, hopefully at 6000 MT/s. My current 8 year old ASUS laptop (17.3" desktop replacement RoG) can't last much more and I do want the next laptop to be on the same vein - big, powerful and to last me at least 7 years, preferably 10.

Why arrow lake specifically? Just curious
@Winnetou17Ай бұрын
@@entity-bl5og No real good reason. I kind of see Intel as the underdog now, people not giving it slack even when they're going in the right direction. Usually Intel had better memory support and uplifts and also more tunable. Well, the support isn't exactly that much better now, if we exclude CUDIMMs, but still. Also, Arrow Lake still fared pretty well in production benchmarks. For the gaming I'll do, it will also do very well, I don't need super high framerates. Lastly, it's a new platform and I would like to toy with it. I'm to this day disappointed to see noone at least trying to run Meteor Lake just on the 2 LPE-cores. And see if that can be used in the day-to-day activity. Arrow Lake doesn't have that (Lunar Lake does though) but it has another host of knobs. Not sure how many will be on the mobile chips though. So, yeah, these are the main reasons. All pretty subjective, since I'm sure I couldn't go wrong with an AMD chip. And if for some reasons Arrow Lake on mobile proves dezastrous, I will go AMD.

I love the idea of going into a mature market and choosing the part of it that I want to compete in and the best way to differentiate my product. The consumer and environmental focus is definitely the right one, so we're on the same page here. Best wishes and continued success! 😊

Really great to see that the first question answered was about CAMM2. I currently own a FW13 with AMD and I'm holding on to buying more ram for it because I'm waiting for a new (preferably AMD) board announcement using CAMM2

Would you commit to some sort of trade in program for the CPU/GPU module on Framework 16? Looking forward to the option to upgrade but I would not have a use for the older components. Would be nice to just send back to framework if you could more easily get it repurposed. Even if we get like $100-$200 for the trade.

There is a forum as well as the subreddit where you can sell your old framework hardware.

@@FR4M3Sharma Don't know why I didn't notification of this reply but thanks. Honestly prefer to just let Framework handle that but good to know.

I missed the stream, but I'd really like to know the plans for how long to support the FW13/16 chassis. It was something I didn't think critically about and just somewhat 'assumed' it would be 'forever'. Linus mentioned something in a video once that mentioned the chassis might not be the same long term.

I wish there was customizability for the 16 inch, but it seems there is very little customizability for keyboard and screen and GPU.

It is unfortunate I couldn't come see this live, I was in my digital electronics class. I have a question if it could still be answered: Is there any opportunity for summer/year long student internship positions? If so, would students outside of the US be considered? I love the work Framework does and would love to be part of it someday!

Will we get Intel Lunar lake or next upcoming arrow lake in framework? If yes, how you guys will manage RAM, GPU everything into SOC? And whats the point of framework if we couldn’t upgrade the RAM without changing CPU?
