In the Light Novel Fran find out and blame Amanda for allow their parents to die. Only with time and various situations could he forgive her and understand Amanda's point of view. In one of them, Amanda almost passed to the other side.

Fran's parents name is Kinan & Flamia. They combined Fla- and -n to make Flan(pronounced Fran in japanglish cuz they can't pronounce the letter L) That's why instead of Flan they changed it to Fran so its easy to read.

Personally Amanda is the worst character here. she hinders growth in Fran and pointlessly keeps secrets for her own selfish reasons. The only reason she even acts like she does around Fran is her own self service trying to quell her own guilt. Imagine how much more Fran would have grown if Amanda never showed up.

@@garrettdemoss9465 that's because at that point Fran basically IS a defenseless child. Most of her strength comes from Teacher and without him she's quite weak. That duel didn't hinder Fran's growth in any way, it showed her how true strength looks like and gave her a goal. Amanda wants Fran to know that there are many people who are more powerful than her and to be careful. Another thing is that Fran enjoys fighting people stronger her, Amanda just gives her that while are teaching her that you can't always win and sometimes you need to accept defeat. Losing is always a better lesson than winning. While I agree that Amanda could've told Fran about her parents, it most likely wouldn't change anything, other than possibly causing Fran to hate Amanda for some time.

He is a weapon. a tool. of course all her strength comes from him. That is the whole point of a weapon. Especially one of his caliber. As far as telling her about her parents, simply not telling her cause she does not want her to be mad for some time is selfish and self serving. If she told her the truth Fran could grow emotionally with acceptance of that fact over time. When you over shelter a child then end up unable to cope with adulthood later on...
