@@Multerland first of all, I'm not sure where you're getting your history but chateaux and castles had been built in France and Europe since the middle age. Colonislisn didn't start until the 19th century. This idea of France and Europeans that built their wealth on colonialism is utter b$#lsh$t. Colonialism cost far more to France than it profited it. As far as Congo genocide, are you gonna blame Europeans? Is there anything bad that happens in Africa that Africans can't control? Central Africa is horrible not because of colonialism, it's terrible because of human tribal nature.

Near 60 years after the independence, look properly at what all those African countries have done of their country; nothing. Most of them are eaten away by corruption. So stop complaining. You have had 60 years to reconquer your own culture and you African have done NOTHING!

@@iappreciatethat7184 the speech would be long, because I, being Italian, would obviously be biased. France is beautiful, I have visited it 3 times and the last time for 1 month far and wide. But the density and intensity of Italy's artistic and natural beauties are in my opinion unsurpassed. An objective data is that of Unesco sites ... beyond the absolute number (2-3 more for Italy) and the number of Unesco sites per km² (1 every 5,000 km² for Italy, 1 every 12,000 km² for France, being the much larger French territory) .... the biggest difference I found between Italy and France is that in the same area to visit one beautiful place after another I always had to travel several kilometers. In Italy in any region even within a radius of only 20 km you have to make choices, to visit some places rather than others. Even the smallest villages and hamlets that are jewels in Italy are infinite everywhere, in France much less widespread everywhere. And the beaches, as beautiful as the Breton or the Cote d'Azur ones, and some Corsican beaches, are not comparable to the beauty with turquoise and crystalline waters of those of all southern Italy and Sardinia.
@iappreciatethat7184
@iappreciatethat7184 3 жыл бұрын
@@Gabneo1 I'm going to answer with one word: diversity. In Italy, you have one or two types of climate and one or two types of architecture (I'm being oversimplistic on here, but you are getting the idea). In France, you will find 15. You can find a bit of Italy, Spain, Germany, England or Ireland in France. You will find cold weather, warm weather, cristaline water, grey water, black soil, grey soil, orange soil, etc, etc, etc. You will find plains, mountains, plateaus, deserts, rivers, etc. You will find overly dense cities, big towns, small villages. You will find architectures from every types of eras and every types of culture. It's not even close, France is far more beautiful because France is in the middle of Europe and was always a crossroad for all types of culture. Italy is still beautiful though. But there is a bit of Italy in France, you can't deny that.
@Gabneo1
@Gabneo1 3 жыл бұрын
@@iappreciatethat7184 yes, i can ... of course i can deny that bcs it seems you're talking about Italy in comparison of France, exactly the opposite of what you meant. 2 types of architecture in Italy, are you serious ? Phoenicians, Etruscans, Greek, doric, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spanish, romanic, medieval, corinthias, bizanthine, renaissance, barocco, gothic, neoclassic, rationalist, modern ... but you make me believe you don't know Italy at all ! Many of these types were born in Italy ! Ask to a friend of yours who's an architect, if you don't believe me. And the climate, are you serious ? Think about position of Italy in the map .... it is narrow and long from the Alps to almost Africa, therefore from a very cold north for most of the year (and also with the glaciers on the Alps, which among other things are also the most beautiful in the world with the Italian Dolomites ) the further south you go, the more the climate changes gradually, even in the same season, much more than in France, up to the very mild climate all year round along the southern coast of Sicily.

Tourism in France is one of the richest and most prosperous economic sectors. France is visited by 85 million foreign tourists a year, making it the most popular tourist destination in the world; however, it is only in third place, and not in first place, in the income produced by tourism due to shorter visits and overnight stays which drop to 137 million, placing France in fifth place of the countries most visited by non-residents, behind the States United, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and China. In short, for many tourists France is more of passage. More than 20% of tourists have in fact spent less than half of what they did in the United States of America

Henry II, king of England was count of Anjou, not king of Anjou. It was not a separate kingdom from France. Because he was, among other titles like duc of Normandy, count of Anjou, Henry II was the vassal of the king of France. Here, my favorite castle is Fontainebleau. Napoléon used to called it "The house of the centuries, the true kings' palace" because Fontainebleau is the only castle which has been constantly used by the French kings (and emperors) from the 13th century to the 19th.

Totally Right, but you could have added the fact that Henri II Plantagenêt was twice the vassal of the french King was actually one of the main reasons of the hundred years war between French and English "French", sort of civil war which wasn't given its name. The other reason was that the french king died without a direct descendance and then the french king of England claim the french crown... I wonder what would have happened if both kingdoms had isntantly been united instead of doing a harsh and incredibly long war.

North of France is the shitty place of France, South is better, especially South West. I said that, but its absolutely not related to the fact that I live in the South West of France. But the fact about North of France being shitty is true tho, the weather is very bad and even if there is some beautiful place, most of North France have the remain of the 19th century industrialization with plenty of ugly building from that time. While South and Center of France is way more rural, wealthier and the weather is way better. There is way more castle and cozy village here. Plus we made wine in that part, so its great.

Glad to see the "touch of class" beautiful scenery. I feel like I am in heaven watching human masterpieces along the way. The gadget flying around can be a plane or a drone, right? The speed was just right. Very steady! The high definition videos and the timing of the season are just superb. Thanks for the team who bring these beauty to my eyes. It is like a high class restaurant serving caviar!!!

at 11:52 -- oddly omitted by the commentary, what looks like a tiny cathedral comes into view in the lower left corner. What is little more than a single room chapel inside contains one thing: the final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci

The video fails to mention that from 1921 to 1935, Chateau Fontainbleau was home to the American Music School, headed by the remarkable Nadia Boulenger. Among her pupils were Daniel Barenboim, Elliott Carter, Aaron Copland, David Diamond, John Eliot Gardiner, Philip Glass, Roy Harris, Quincy Jones, Michel Legrand, Igor Markevitch, Darius Milhaud, Astor Piazzolla, Lalo Schifrin & Virgil Thomson.

Henri the second was a member of the plantagenet house, which was from Anjou. The plantagenet house was the second "french" house to rule england after the norman one. But at this time France didnt exist in its current shape and Anjou was a possesion of the english crown, so Henri II was at the same time vassal of the king of France Phillipe August and king of england. Henri II was educated in French, and even the english nobility was at time time, French was a really prestigious language that's why it was the language of the nobility. What is important to understand is that the cultural border was pretty much non existent betweem england and France, and even today british monarqs still speak french.

Years ago (we I use to watch cable tv) you all made a video call "Cote De Azure" (sp?) & it had Ertha Kitt singing in the background while you filmed filmed flying over the entirety of the French coast from Spain to Italy. I loved soooo much!!! If you still have it can you put it on KZbin for us?
