What writer becomes a sensation but also receives hate mail, death threats, provokes legal action and is disowned by members of his family? Karl Ove Knausgaard has revolutionised autobiographical fiction with six books provocatively entitled "My Struggle" after Hitler's "Mein Kampf".
These 3,500 pages chart the Norwegian writer's personal trials and tribulations, from the hospitalisation of his wife with a breakdown, to his father's alcoholism, and his conflicted feelings about fatherhood.
The literary sensation speaks to Eve Jackson about living with the consequences of his work, his final installment which reflects on Hitler and the rise of right-wing populism.

what an intellect. How deep and personal someone can be on such a large scale, and remain in tact. please take 'selfie' out of this video title. this video deserves more than a neo-moniker for an author's unrelenting self examination and revelation of truth in literary form.

He is incredible but the interviewer is so disrespectful and wantonly sensationalised the book, the quotes given were so unrepresentative and taken almost wildly out of context, to the point it was wilfully misleading. I admire him to keeping his cool with such a mean-spirited interview.

Asking a man (who thinks in such detail about every little decision he makes in life) whether he thought about whether his children/wife would read the books is such a lame question.

This interviewer really should have read at least one of the books in order to ask some intelligent questions. Given the circumstances though, Knausgård gives a great interview!
