The Coptics are more peaceful than most Christians in the US, it is so sad to see this happen to such a wonderful ancient people, one of the earliest forms of Christianity. They marched with the Egyptian revolutionaries so do not blame all Egyptians, the Muslem Brotherhood is resposible for this.

The Holy written Word of God, says that when Jesus returns, he will go into Egypt first. He is going to rescue his Own Children whom he loves dearly. He goes there in answer to their prayers. "God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs." (Matthew 5:10)

A history question for Coptic Christians: I heard of a lot about stories about prosecution of your people in Egypt (forced conversion, mob violence, not right for rebuilding church, and poor living standard of Zabaleen community). Why didn't Coptic Christians have any political organization like the Maronites in Lebanon under colonial Egypt? Hope that my question is appropriate. Peace.

@mmoneib Thank you for taking the time to look at Mr. Batchelor's website; he's on the air as I type this (unless he's taking a personal night off; his show is still on.) YOU may consider Batchelor to be Conservative however most other people that you would also consider conservative want NOTHING to do with him; Batchelor is to "the right" of you but he's no right-winger, not at all. Oh, and by the way, he's Assyrian Christian on his mother's side, if that helps you.

You might want to get their book and READ it. If you are NOT a Muslims, they are NOT allowed to be your friend. That is the sad truth. ( Quran - Take not the Jew's and Christians for your friends, for they are but friends and protectors of each other only ). - That is one of the SADIST things about Islam.

Pope Timothy I of Alexandria (Egypt) presided on the council when the Nicene Creed was established for the entire church. The Nicene creed was Trinitarian. That was in 381 A.D. But that doesn't even matter, the bottom line is they were CHRISTIANS , and Egypt was CONQUERED.
@mehmetazk11 жыл бұрын
And Unitarians lived in Egypt before Athanasius the trinitarian was ever born. So, what's your point; especially that it was the Unitarian Egyptians who accepted Islam?? Most of the followers of Athanasius remained trinitarians.

As long as Obomanation is in the White house, that wouldn't help them. Just this week a teacher in a public school, refused to let a little boy (in this horrable hot weather ) get a drink of whater, because it MIGHT offend the muslim students. Here in Oklahoma we banned Sharah Law, but 2 Oboozo apointed federal judges said we can not ban Sharah Law.If obomanation is not impeached, the US will only get worse.

Have you ever heard of the Hussite Wars in the early 15th century? Have you ever heard of the Thirty Years' War in the 17th century? Have you even heard about the Trinitarians slaughtering an estimated 12 million Unitarian Arians between 450 and 650 CE? If you're looking for "conversion by force", you better look for what I previously asked you about, or you might try searching for Charlemagne's butcheries against the Saxons. Good luck with your research!

@mmoneib Yes, this poll (which is fairly recent) shows that most Egyptians are optimistic about the upcoming elections and the government that will result. However in a Pew poll taken earlier, "Egyptians want more Islam in politics"; I was using THIS poll as part of my source and I believe it to be, obviously, the more accurate one even though it is obviously somewhat older. Either way, I wish Egypt all the best this way, it's just that I'm not as optimistic as you are; anyway, all the best!!!

30 or 40 years ago, perhaps a Copt would have preferred moving to Christian Europe but today... lol, go to certain parts of Brussels or Malmo or London or Berlin or Marseille and you'll feel like you never left Egypt (or whatever Muslim country the people who populate those ghettos come from). There's no easy solution to this, sadly.
@SatchmoSings13 жыл бұрын
@esiosan You are absolutely correct but the average person in Egypt frankly isn't the least bit interested; @mmoneib is a good example of this. And besides, the secularism that Egypt has had has been the model of "The One Party" state so that's really not much of an improvement; that's Nazi Germany or the USSR which Egypt used to be allied with.

@SatchmoSings So you are a fortune teller?! And what is western-style republicanism?! Your parents were probably practicing racism while we got rid of it many centuries ago. Freedom and democracy is not exclusive to the west no matter what you may think. We've been suffering from dictators backed by your country for decades. It's not easy to teach people who have been living in oppression for many years about democracy in months. It could get years, but we'll eventually succeed.

Bottom line is that 94% of today's Egyptian citizens are Copts and Nubians, while only 10% of the population are Christians (including Catholics, Greek Orthodox, and Protestants who are NOT Copts). This proves that the vast majority of the Egyptians reverted to Islam; as did the Nubians. Yes, Egypt was CONQUERED, but her citizens were NOT forced to Islam; on the contrary, the Arab conquerors gave them choice; unlike the Byzantines who persecuted the Egyptians. Now who's the intolerant?
