TIME Magazine is putting a man that is a rapist and adulterer on their cover as "person of the year" so that should tell you how prevalent misogyny is in this world and what a priority stopping violence against women is.

@rosiebowers167119 сағат бұрын
Completely agreed. Where are the men approached by Pélicot who declined the offer but never went to the police? Very few men in the audience, too; very few men talking about it online -- except to express doubts about whether Gisèle was a victim or say this case is given too much attention. Criminals can only do what they do because non-criminals are apathetic to the subjugation of women.

This trial is a has been abhorrent. true disgrace... the defense has been abhorrant towards Gisèle. P. It says so much about French society. I am French, and cannot count how many men I have heard saying that rape was women's responsability. Also, many men are very quick, as well as some women, that many rape claims are fake. When you consider the ratio of accused men against the local population, it is incredibly scary. Only a quarter of the accused men have suffered from terrible childhood trauma.... Again, it says a lot about my country... Indeed, the biais about rape and against women is huge in France. 👎🤦♀ I am going to say it, I felt more secure regarding these issues when I used to live in England. it is not like France was a progressive country anyway....

@BlahBlah-sz4neКүн бұрын
The term " perfect victim" is really inappropriate. She has been terribly violated and being strong to not be victimised again by the court system. There is nothing perfect about that, no matter how much evidence she has to support the case: that is evidence of her victimisation by many perptrators. The female speaker is reducing Giselle Pelicot to a case and not recognising her humanity.
@SN-sz7kwКүн бұрын
Her point was that even if you’re a “perfect victim” - a woman with a clearly provable rape case - they put you through hell. She’s acknowledging how much she’s gone through.
