Francesinha l Portuguese sandwich l albert cancook
Sandwich
White bread
1 ribeye steak
6 slices of ham
4 Linguica sausages
8 cheese slices
Sauce
1 onion
2 tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp Peri-Peri sauce
12 oz lager beer
1 cup beef broth
3/4 cup Porto
1 tbsp cornstarch+ 2 tbsp water
Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce
Sate onion for 5 min until tender adds garlic, crushed tomatoes, peri sauce, and cook for 5-6 min. Add bay leaf, beer, Porto, and broth. Cook for 10 min and blend. Return to saucepan and add mixed cornstarch with water, cook until thick.
Sandwich
Toast bread, fry ham, and sausage. Cook steak as you like. Cook an egg. Assemble as shown on video.

Honestly, it was the worst meal I ate in Porto, and I tried it twice in different restaurants. Something about soaked bread is just not doing it for me although meat inside was great. Aside from franchezinha, I loved Portugese cousine, especialy the fish, and the fact that every meal comes with rice, potatoes and An egg.

I'm portuguese and you are to be congratulated, everything is perfect I've seen a lot of people making the wrong recipe, but you got it all right normally the meat is not cut when placed in francesinha but otherwise there are no mistakes, congratulations and hug from a big fan from portugal
