Every reason he described is the reason why most people SHOULD become franchise owners! While its not necessarily passive or easy, its not as difficult as starting a business from scratch. You're provided with a blueprint and you follow it. Owning a franchise isn't about being creative or about having a brain child. They give you what you need and you have to stick with their plan. That is what some of us want. If done correctly, you will make good money.

Being honest I'm fine if it's not my business or I am not a entrepreneur. As long as it is an asset and I don't have to run it. I'm good. Honestly the goal is to get rich not be a businessman. But I totally understand what he's saying and I agree with it. You can't call yourself a entrepreneur if you haven't done any sweat.

Right. They basically gave them the illusion of being true business owners when in fact franchisees are nothing more than viral fast food marketers.

An Entrepreneur can add the ownership of a franchise to their portfolio, but a solo franchisee/owner/operator is not an Entrepreneur

This is a paradox...! I have a friend who owns OVER 200 franchises times about 14 employees per store... that's almost 3000 people with work! That's 3000 people with work!

True but but it still a borrowed concept, if that brand goes down what happens to him? the system will be taken away he will be left with 200 stores that need a system to be built from scratch to get it running. how long do you think its going to take him to build the system that will run 200 outlets?

As any punter would tell you... be sure which horse you're backing! He's been with Famous Brands for over 30 years... when he talks (franchisee) they (Franchisor) listen AND vice versa. He has a very diversified portfolio profile of stores... Steers, Debonairs, Fishaways, Milky Lane, Wimpy etc... etc...! In actual fact his even gone as far as having built a significant shareholding in the Franchisor themselves... besides running two of their 3 call centres for online orders AND a huge fleet of delivery vehicles! Personally I think he's almost bulletproof... BUT COVID was something else, a debate for another day! Thanks for your comments and response... Solly De Aguiar.

@@Consatia No honest Franchisor will TAKE back a franchise UNLESS the franchisee has dishonoured the agreement OR alternatively acted in bad faith! If YOU sign up for BAD agreement... surely YOU didn't do your due diligence. FASA WILL BAN AND BLACKLIST ANY FRANCHISOR WHO ACT'S UNDERHANDEDLY.... PERIOD!°

McDonald's doesn't have a hundred thousand....100,000 stores by mistake, Burger King plus 30,000 stores, KFC also plus 30,000 stores WORLDWIDE! Let's NOT even mention Coca-Cola OR PepsiCo... they have hundreds IF NOT thousands of licenced bottlers around the world! In actual fact they're the safe default choice when I'm travelling through a town or location that I'm unfamiliar with... the brand operates to a standard... KFC in Cape Town is the same as KFC in Gauteng... this IS the case with any mainstream FFF(Fast Food Franchise) worthy of the brand cache THEY OWN AND SHOULD project! Hope this makes some sense?
