Who would go through the trouble of removing the metal parts off of a cartridge? Wouldn't that make it unusable? They probably changed the actual game for a blank cartridge or it came that way and that's why they returned it.

Someone took a part a cartridge years ago to see what a cartridge is made of... there is a complete circuit board inside.. and if your careful you could remove the circuit board

this is 100% what happened. There's no serial number on the back of the empty cartridge, and the plastic printing is horrible. Definitely an aftermarket cartridge.

Its most likley not a scam. Others have bought games new from stores that either didnt have the game cartridge or empty cartridges . things like this happen from time to time in the factories.

That's an old scam. Remember going to the trade center. And finding empty cartridges. Shocked you haven't found more. It's a huge thing. Or blank blueray disc with the game sticker made to look like it's the actual game for PS4. I've had 3 tables shut down at a local trade center for it.

People used to do that with the original Gameboy games. Switch the innards. You could do the same with the Gameboy itself. That's why stores stopped returning electronics that were open. You couldn't get cash, only store credit or exchange for the same thing.

Hey man, there are codes on the label and the cart that match to prevent the return of the the wrong inside or swapped label games. Gamestop actually trained employees this trick

That isn't a customer return scam like you'd think it is. That's a factory defect, sometimes in the assembly line cartridges are missed. I've bought brand new Super NES, 64, Sega, Gameboy, 3DS and Wii games and had a few that were missing the chips.

they didnt remove the game insides..its actually a display game not meant to play..like sometimes appliances have display models..without the insides of the coffee maker....it is a scam..but not what you think...gamestop has display model switch games without the insides..so they cant steal the game....the insides were never there ..Clint...

On amazon, 9% of the reviews are 1* and most of them say it's flat out the wrong CD. Even the "top positive" review says it's wrong but they didn't want to give the soundtrack 1*. Although he got the band wrong, not Hall & Oates but Crosby Stills and Nash. Probably a bad batch.

I thought the best thing to happen to music was the convenience of it, for the consumer anyway, download it on to the iPod, you could have your entire music collection on a small device, no scratches or crackling sounds, bring it with you wherever you go, best thing since slice pan 😆 Then, somehow, a few years back they bring back vinyl, convincing people, through advertisements and media, it's the way to go, the nostalgia of it all, very retro. I don't get it really, I come from an era where vinyl was the norm, and a right pain, records skipping, easily getting scratched etc, before CDs even, to me vinyl is the equivalent of selling sand to the arabs. Give me the convenience any day, play what you want, where you want in an instant. People these days rush into every new fad, and in this case, old ones also 😆

i had the same scam happen to me but mine was 2 sega genisis emulators in a amazon return pallet where the games came up blank and somebody took out the teeth of the game and put in blanks they where going for around $400 new each on amazon which put my upside down on that deal meaning came up negetive on the pallet

I’ve run into this a lot in record collecting, and I can tell you that these type of mispressings are really only extremely valuable or sought after if they involve a very collectible artist, like Beatles, Rolling Stones, U2, Metallica etc., whereas if you had a Barbara Streisand record that had one side that was actually a Kris Kristofferson record, it’s not worth much and very few people will be interested in buying it for more than a few bucks.

Its quite a mystery mate, band got away with it, record distributors got away with it, I think Amazon censor the cover. Ebay don't ,and they get away with it. Google images, the uncensored version of cover is readily accessible. Unsure if this is an urban myth, but when band and or record company took auditions for the girl, they rejected her sister as she didn't look young enough!.

I do not think that was a scam! I am wondering if this was just not tested. Unless who ever opened the case is so good because I saw no signs of tampering with the case!
