Hey there, I've been a puppeteer for 40 years and this is a REALLY FANTASTIC video on bringing a puppet to life. Very good tips for the puppet lovers out there. Good Job!

Thank you so much! This video is useful and funny! May I ask a question? What's the different between "puppet show" and "puppetry"?
@franciedillon6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ellen... thank you for watching our video. So...to answer your question in a completely non-professional tone... and you might even find a better definition on Google - Puppetry - is the actual technique of "how to " use the puppets. An example - as shown in the video - changing your voice to make the puppet reflect a character trait... or the use of the puppets hands - the tilt of the head to demonstrate that the puppet is "listening" to the audience. That's puppetry. Then... once you've learned those skills --- you get to put them all together in a show - that has a storyline. I hope that makes sense.... take care! Francie

My biggest problem with my puppets is always to come up with their names. I work with small children (ages 1-3), and I find it extremely difficult to find simple names that are easy to remember, especially because the names need to work in norwegian as well. Any out there with any tips & tricks on how they do it. I am completely at a loss....

Is it me, or are Gordon's eyes made of plastic spoons and glass beans? Never thought of using spoons as the base for eyes.. As for the giant, a campy voice could go some very interesting places!
