Yea I don’t know how a person could root against Francis based on his story and based on how good natured he is....but beyond that he’s betting on himself and the stakes were/are high. I’ll always root for someone betting on themself like that. If he failed and the door closed on him it would’ve shut the door on other fighters thinking about going against the UFC. I don't see him fighting in the UFC again. After his surgery(s) heal up he's either an unrestricted free agent or right around the corner from being one. Conor v Floyd got up around 100 mil a piece for their fight, how much bigger is Francis v Fury? 2 basically super-heavyweight current world champs in different disciplines in a boxing match lol. Francis's life story alone could make him world famous before they step into the ring. If they promo that correctly you'd have every single African at home or living abroad tuning in and Fury is almost as good as Conor on the mic so the promos will be gold. We love MMA here but alot of the world still views MMA as either too violent or 2 guys on the gound grinding each other like lovers lol. Boxing is different and HW boxers are another level. It's safe to say that the vast vast majority of men on the planet would get excited to see 2 gigantic HW's boxing who happen to be world champs in their disciplines. If Francis signs that fight, how could the UFC ever agree to what he'd be demanding I mean seriously? And why would he ever fight MMA again when if he doesn't get mollywhopped by Fury he'd have the Wilder fight which would be a power v power matchup that would sell?

The man is also speaking up for fighters who can't. A true champion inside and outside the octagon. Dana White and the UFC shouldn't be allowed to run away from the very legitimate concerns he has raised in this interview. Much respect for the Champ from India!

Cry about it..he wants to box and the UFC is not in the boxing bussiness. So the sooner they strip him and release him the better. He's only good for one boxing match with Tyson fury and after tyson destroys Fransis there will be no one wanting to see him box again. Fransis is not a needle mover he can't sale PPV's that's why he only makes 600 grand why would the ufc pay him millions when the ufc would never make there money back off of him.Usman sales more PPV's then Fransis and that's a low bar. It’s a known secret that money laundering is funneled through these organizations and either way, making 100s of millions means nothing if you don’t know how to spend it. There’s a documentary about how athletes in particular (who make 10s or 100s of millions) end up broke because they have no concept of money. The way the UFC is ran is exactly like an open market. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get what I want” he’s not lying he literally escaped from Cameroon and became the UFC Heavyweight Champion. He also lives by the motto that “you have to create your own destiny.” He’s one of the most inspirational athletes of all time and I hope that he gets treated fairly in whatever organization he chooses to fight for.

I didn't think my respect for this man could increase any more - it was pretty damn high after he won with the knee injuries - but this interview really hammers home how much he has evolved and matured as a fighter. What a warrior, and what a title defense. Formidable! Thank you Ariel for an excellent interview.

One thing I find very strange is why Cyril did not kick his legs. It was like watching Francis focusing on wrestling. I Cyril Really that nice so as not to kick and injured man? Or what was going on?

@@theohuioiesin6519 Good point. A reasonable explanation why we did not see Cyril perform so many kicks on Francis' legs, is perhaps to not risk getting a hit which would result in a KO. If anyone knows about Francis' strength, it's Cyril. Another explanation, as I see it, is simply that Cyril might have wanted to win in a very macabre way, in a way that no one else could have feared before. Either way, it's easy to be hindsight like this after a thrill fight.

Boxing has the Ali Act. MMA is gonna have the Ngannou Rule soon hopefully. Just him acknowledging the BS of the fighters being called independent contractors yet cant fight anywhere else is telling. Also because of them being so called "independent contractors", the UFC doesn't have to have to give them health insurance and so on. Him winning this battle will change how MMA and specifically the UFC runs forever. We're rooting for you Francis!

Yah, and I think He just has to ask the UFC for exactly what he wants and the mostly cool UFC will probably agree to the wishes because he is such a straight forward guy, lots of 'poo-pooing' on the UFC and we haven't even heard what UFC thinks of his requests "besides Money" What Francis? to do Pepsi commercials?... Go loose against a popular Boxing champ...Why not? Like Francis says...and we say, this is F*kin' America the free and I can do what I want, when i want...Right?

Stipe too. UFC, Dana White in particular was horrible against Stipe. Stipe is a firefighter, he saves lives, how can you treat a firefighter that way? The UFC doesn't care about people. Let alone good people. They used Ngannou (without actually caring about him) against Stipe. They tried to use Gane against Ngannou. That's just the way this despicable organization functions. Using fighters against each other. Francis Ngannou is a man of character. I thank him for helping us see what who Dana White really is
