Absolutely. I've been disappointed by the online community when it comes to him. He's been very honest and respectful. Francis is the first UFC champ, at the height of his game, who is able tell his boss to go take a hike! Remember, this was a guy who walked from Africa to Europe, in his late teens/early 20s. Man, Francis is already a legend in combat sports. Putting his combat accomplishments to the side, he stood up to the man and demanded what he believed he was worth, and when they tried to throw money in his face he rejected it and kept his dignity. Whatever happens next, he can hold his head up high. And he will make lots of money regardless. Now, I know MMA fans are top contenders for the most dumb, juvenile group of fans across sport, but if you ever had a job, you should at least respect what he has done/is doing.

I think..with what Francis has been through which is facing death on his journey to MMA and surviving, he is very secure in himself and doesn't need any validation from any one as to the moves he makes in his life whether people understand it or not is none of his concern and that is why I want to be like Francis one day. Whereas Jon I feel like is very lost and trying to find himself and getting "love" from fans sort of gives him validation. Thats what I think.

@@Jack-ur7mq There's a lot more that goes into his decision. For one, he has serious knee issues, which is not conducive to MMA training. He could use some time to heal and strengthen his legs while taking a boxing match. Two, he obviously does not care about being ultra rich, he's made tens of millions and has said he will be set for the rest of his life no matter what. Lastly, people underestimate how much the other organizations are paying for one offs. He could have lost the title in UFC and lost PPV commission, but the other orgs will pay him what he would make on PPV's whether he is the champion or not. He definitely did not drop any bags, he will still make tens of millions before he retires, all while preserving his legs and brain.

it makes sense why Bellator is not in the discussion. they’re trying to get both Nate and Francis.. and they don’t have that kinda bankroll to get both. getting Nate is more beneficial to them im sure cause hes a bigger star and if Francis loses his stock drops severely where if Nate loses.. no one cares.

100% No, Lot of fans don’t care about the business aspect. Francis has mentioned numerous time the pressure game that UFC displayed on him for years now. They don’t understand once the UFC, specifically Dana White, play hard ball….that’s the last place you want to be. They have buried many UFC legends just because of contract disputes. Ask many of them about the UFC and they will tell you. From Frank Shamrock, Randy Couture, Royce, Tito, Don Frye, BJ Penn, Ben Henderson, Rampage, etc….the list goes on. Rich Franklin took a job from the PFL only to have his name never again mentioned in the ufc. They are ruthless.

It appears to me that Francis is discovering that making boxing matches happen is no walk in the park, even if the fighters actually WANT to fight each other. How many real boxers will WANT to fight Francis? All offers will be exhibition/circus fights. No heavyweights with a belt is gonna want to do legit vent.

I like how people try to twist reality and it works since most have very short memory. Back in march 2021 when Francis Ngannou became champion him and Jon Jones were supposed to make a fight. Francis Ngannou said "show me the contract", Jon Jones said "show me the money". Dana White at the time said that he proposed Jon Jones 10 million, and claimed he asked for 30 million, but now he claims it is Francis Ngannou who priced himself out. Jon Jones was saying "I want the fight, I just want to get paid". Then Dana White wanted Francis Ngannou to defend his title from Derrick Lewis, so if it will not be Francis Ngannou who is champion Jon Jones will make Heavyweight turn. Then he make an Interim title fight between Cyril Gane and Derrick Lewis literally after 3 months UFC got new Heavyweight Champion
