Built like a Fire Hydrant and with Light Tower Power. Nice to see those Top Prospects in baseball excel in the big leagues. Hope he stays healthy and continues to make adjustments.

The comments here are clean and supportive. The comments section in the NY POST are toxic, all hating the way he celebrated and ran the bases, all the while pointing out that he's Latino, and should shelve his exuberance and play like Caucasians do. Unbelievable that even your hometown fans spew their racism, whether overt or covert, upon even their own players.

First of all this whole baseball bat in the studio thing is just the next level of people can't watch anything without needing everything and I was saying this mid last season while not a single other person was Alvarez needs to be in the major leagues starting as catcher because I am the most accurate Mets analyst worldwide and likely the most accurate baseball analyst worldwide by far.

This dude got a breakdown before Patrick Bailey. Allways some New York Bias. Bailey is the best rookie catcher this year by far and it’s not even close

Yes. Has a cannon for an arm, spots the ball well and the staff loves throwing to him. He`ll win some gold gloves at some point.

And to think the Mets didnt want to bring him up and Buck was sitting him. If Nido and Narvaez weren't injured, this kid would be riding the pine. Buck has to go.

I like how recently he pimped out a HR that barely stayed fair. You think he hit it 500 feet as he was only half way down to first base when it landed. But he is still young. He will learn even if it is the hard way.

Lol you do that when you have to pay a guy soon and you try to replenish the farm system to build for the future. That would be completely nonsensical as they have the highest payroll in baseball.

Also I generally don't agree with this guy's analysis and swinging the bat a lot and being dramatic doesn't change that this always has to do with identifying pitch location and capitalizing on those mistakes. It's not like oh I can't throw that pitch again no he can throw that pitch again it just wasn't a good location it's got nothing to do with the pitch itself.

And what about the last several weeks of him going 0/4 every day?? Did we just forget about that? Anyone can hit a bunch of home runs and have a .200 batting avg. Bailey from the Giants is way more consistent

@@turkwendell6904 nah man, dude has no discipline. I picked him up for my fantasy team right before he started and yeah he’ll get hot and hit like 5 home runs in a week, but then will go 0/4 for a whole month before he gets on another streak. Not worth the hassle. But I guess if the Mets wants a dude to hit home runs and not hit for avg. more power to them. But newsflash: the Mets are doing horribly this year and this is probably why lol

It will come in due time because he just a rookie and hes a catcher. The more reps he’ll get he will find out where he’ll stand a year from now. But, from what I’ve been seeing he’s doing great and him playing defense has improved a lot.
